AutoFPS of course doesn't work (that's expected) - Scratch that I spoke too soon seems like their on on it

So I'll just await the test build to be published.

FYI, 0.4.5.6-test13 is now available here, which now works with the SU4 Beta.

as we had the same 'wow' reports at the start of of SU3 testing.

I don't remember that and if there were any, it was nowhere near prevalent as what's happening with SU4 now. Actually, if I remember correctly, the start of the SU3 beta was a bit of a disaster that many people reported on. The sim was mostly unplayable for a week.

I don't have time to test it today, but I launched the A320v2 at LFPG with FSLTL traffic and the performance seems really much improved. Like 60+ fps and no stutters without FG. It means 120+ fps with FG 2X for me.

It seems that Asobo has worked well on the mainthread and CPU bottleneck as reported in the release notes. And that these issues actually existed, despite what certain people stated (but that's another story, let's focus on and enjoy what's positive).

This makes me feel bad for Asobo, it's once again the demonstration that they release a build not when it's ready, but when the deadline arrives. As it happened for the game in 2020 and again in 2024.

Happy landings everyone! 🙂

So many people reporting that their performance in SU4 is quite good. If the MSFS team can keep this performance by the release of SU4, they will have a winner.

Yes. I don't do betas but was excited at the sound of SU3 with the initial reports. When it got released though, definitely not as impressive as it first sounded and with a bunch of annoying little changes/errors. Still, I'll await SU4 just as eagerly, but with a certain amount of trepidation.

All part of the game, I guess.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

Honestly it is pretty amazing at the moment and I just want to fly. I'm going to skip this one.

I tried my usual test flight with the Fenix A 320 from EDDC to EDDC, rwy 22. Before I had severe stutters always right after takeoff and again when approaching minimus and on roll-out. Those stutters are gone. At least for my first little flight.

Although I saw no improvement in performance, still poor, I was using the inibuilds aircraft that were bundled with the sim and they stuttered everywhere.  My 737 max doesn't work in the update.

Are the inibuilds bundled aircraft just badly performing anyway?

No. They never performed bad.

For me, with the Ini, I don't know what they did, but it's like night and day. It nearly doubled my performance in Singapore with the Ini A350. Same stand, same traffic; I had 90 FPS before with FG x4 (5090 and 285k), and now I'm getting 170+ FPS. Amazing! Hopefully, they can maintain this level of performance. Even when increasing the TLOD setting (up to 400) , the performance remains excellent.

Sounds impressive.

I can't complain about the performance SU3. For me it is much improved. And since I had to upgrade my CPU last week everything is even better now. (Just saw AutoFPS had cranked up TLOD to 1000 in cruise in the Ifly737. Talk about overhead. It only went down becaue my measly 8GB VRAM got saturated.

But what hasn't vanished is the deterioating performance on ground once you touch down and until you roll slower than 7 knots.

I hope this is finally being adressed in SU4.

That's all fair, but for some users/systems, it's quite possible that SU3 ended up being an appreciable (or better) improvement over SU2 (certainly was for me), and now SU4 over SU3 🤷‍♂️. In any case, let's see how the final SU4 release pans out as this is just the first beta build of SU4 and many more to go likely.
