November 26, 2025Nov 26 Am I the only one with Historic Time/Weather issues in the latest build? I select a departure last night and when I load in it switches to today's date and current weather. Tried a few times now and same issue each time.
November 26, 2025Nov 26 So the release notes has a bullet point to say that a bug got fixed to allow removal/toggling of chocks/etc outside of pre-flight mode in some cases, and a second poorly worded and maybe unnecessary sentence to clarify that this fix doesn't mean toggling of chocks/covers can done at other times like in-flight... and then the usual drama queens jumped at the chance to do their usual Asobo bashing? 🙂 Gee, what a surprise. Len 1980s: Sublogic FS II on C64 ---> 1990s: Flight Unlimited I/II, MSFS 95/98 ---> 2000s/2010s: FS/X, P3D, XP ---> 2020+: MSFS Current system: i9 13900K, RTX 4090, 64GB DDR5 4800 RAM, 4TB NVMe SSD
November 26, 2025Nov 26 To be fair documentation has traditionally been lacking in MSFS so I understand the frustration. I mean I had to start a vote to even INCLUDE release notes in minor releases as the vast majority of the time of you do actually click on the release notes as you are installing they would always be from the last major release and not provide any information at all. But don't let that stop the usual keyboard warriors telling off people for being keyboard warriors 😂 Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

November 27, 2025Nov 27 I did LSZH-FAOR in the A340, there were some stutters and glitchy audio on take off but it was fine once I got to cruise, and the landing there were not any, I'll retry and redoing the caches and such. But it could of been the scenery. Edited November 27, 2025Nov 27 by Tuskin38

What this release note is saying is that there was formerly an issue with certain aircraft prior to 1.6.30.0 that in some circumstances could prevent players from removing the wheel chocks and covers. A result of this bug is that certain aircraft could taxi, takeoff, and fly with chocks and covers still enabled. That bug has now been resolved. There remains a deliberate restriction -- by design -- that prevents you from toggling the covers and chocks on while you're flying. As for knowledge of aviation, I would definitely never claim to have the expert level knowledge of some of the long-time professional pilots in the flight simming community, but here's a photo of my pilot license (personal information blacked out). I hope this suitably establishes my aviation knowledge credentials with you. Kind regards, SeedyL, MSFS Community Manager Thank you Seedy! A community manager having their PPL is far above and beyond what is expected. Seb also has his PPL. And many people at Asobo got their PPL when they started the development of MSFS. I’m not sure why a lot of people think there aren’t many licensed pilots working on MSFS. There are quite a lot of licensed pilots working on MSFS, from my understanding. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

On the Microsoft side, most (maybe all?) of our aircraft test team were recruited from flying clubs. You might have seen the job posting for those positions being shared online a while ago (I think I saw the job listing linked here on AVSIM, in fact). They all have at least a PPL, and several have additional licenses/certs like CPL, IFR, Multiengine, etc. We're also very fortunate to have a former USAF F-15 Eagle and C-141 Starlifter pilot on the MSFS team! Asobo also employs many IRL pilots and experienced flight sim software developers. You may have previously seen François Rembry in some of the Feature Discovery Series videos we posted to YouTube (like this one about aerodynamics). François is Asobo's Flight Model and System Designer and is a graduate of a test pilot school in Germany. He has CPL, ATPL, and CFI ratings. There is an absolutely incredible amount of passion and excitement for aviation among members of the MSFS team. I consider myself amazingly lucky that I get to show up for work every day and geek out about flying (and flight simming) with a fantastic group of colleagues who are incredibly driven to make MSFS the best and most realistic home flight simulator ever created. November 27, 2025Nov 27 Hi, I didn't have time to read the whole thread above. Do they now allow you to add wheel covers while in flight? 🙏 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Kind regards, SeedyL, MSFS Community Manager I can say that for sure there is an improvement in the aerodynamics side, but I wonder, having in view all these qualified pilots in your team, why there is no mention of the most important feature missing, setting a visibility down to an RVR value. A requirement for any VFR or IFR conditions. You see, compared to other simulators, this is missing. And this is another reason for these questions. Recruiting from flying clubs is quite a shortcoming; in this forum, there are a few airline pilots, current and qualified in many of the airplanes ASOBO has, who can provide excellent information. 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

Hello @LRBS, The job listings for those positions were posted online and anyone -- including the highly qualified airline pilots who post here on AVSIM -- could have applied. I very strongly suspect that if someone has a job flying at an airline, they're quite unlikely to leave that role to accept a full-time position working as a tester on MSFS, though.
