I still can't understand why some users who did not own the -800 for FS 2020 could buy it with disccount and others couldn't - my case, I own the -700 for FS 2020...

Also .. try different browsers, keep logging in and out, keep refreshing … maybe you too will be a troll soon.

I think whatever loophole or bug that was in their store system allowing this to happen has been quietly closed now, as it doesn't seem to do it anymore.

According to PMDG, this never happened and no one got a discount they weren’t eligible for. They claim it is trolls lying to people.  This is officially from that Mathjis guy.

So you should believe PMDG 🙂 we never got this discount ….

Wow, really? 😄

My son's account physically shows he only owned the -700 for MSFS2020.  That same account also has a receipt for the -800 for MSFS 2024, to the value of $30.

Mathijs Kok is seriously burying his head in the sand if he actually believes this didn't happen for many of us.

Oh well, here's to many more PMDG pricing errors that "don't actually happen" 😄

It’s clear that it’s not weather or not he believed it happened. It’s about willfully telling a different story than what the truth is. Besides he is just as bad at PR with PMDG as he is when he was at aerosoft.

God, most of this thread sounds like children complaining that someone else got a larger slice of cake.  If you got it, fine, if not  life will go on as before.

They spent more time here than flying.

So, because you don’t care about $45 dollars, nobody else should? To be clear, this doesn’t apply to me, since I already owned all variants for MSFS 2020 and got the discount. However, it’s a bit condescending for you to unilaterally decide that $45 isn’t important. If I was one of those people, it would irritate me. It’s not about whether “life will go on as before,” since that applies to almost everything in life. You probably would be best suited to choose your words more wisely in the future.

There is full Simbrief integration.  Flight Plan, weights, everything.

Simbrief integration for weights is in the tablet.

Simbrief integration for loading the flight plan is handled realistically in the FMC.  There's an option to load it on the FPL page when you're setting up.

My bad. not used PMDG since 2020. Forgot to load the EFB first.

Still no seated passengers, but I cant get that to work in any of my planes.

Thanks Pete,

For seeing sense of all this.
I purchased the -700 for 2020 when it came out because it was the first version available. I've upgraded to 2024 the moment it came out and haven't installed the PMDG on it as it was not working at the time (It's doable now, but I'd rather have a fully supported product).
Now they release the -800 first so I have to wait till February, or later, for the -700 version to come out so I can benefit from using the 737 in 2024. I honestly couldn't care less if i get the -700 or the -800. But I feel it should be credited for this release, i.e. I wouldn't mind using the discount now on the -800 and not be able to use it later for the -700. As long as I have use of one of the variants now, especially considering they are the same price.

To be fair, it was a great product for 2020, and it looks like 2024 is also great, and there's no other alternative. I don't mind paying the upgrade fee either, I just won't pay the full 75$ again to access the -800 for now and wait for the discount on the -700. Just quite disappointed with comments from the PMDG team on their forums, especially that chap Mathisj, to paying customers, when they enquire about this convoluted upgrade system etc.. He just sounds miserable. My attitude, they should take customers more seriously and maybe look at how other companies treat their customers. And if they weren't such a pain about it, I would probably have paid the 40$ extra for the -600 version when it eventually comes out.

So yea, my assessment of PMDG as a company, Aircraft 10/10, PMDG Staff Attitude 1/10.

Sorry everyone for the rant.😄

I suppose they expect a few players to take the bait and buy the -800 at full price because they don't want to wait till February.

But as the two variants were sold at the same prices, yes it would have been nice to allow -700 owners to buy the -800 for msfs24 with the discount even if you would have lost your discount on the -700 and would have had to buy it at full price in February if needed. Maybe they would have lost a few sales but it would have been appreciated by the community.

If seen some good reports on performance, oddly enough I’m getting 10 fps less than in fenix and Ifly..

Best regards,

Yup really! Someone posted on their forums, and his response was (paraphrasing, the thread seems to have vanished), "It's not happening. Every time we check it's not true. There's a lot of fake news, don't believe the trolls".

Every time there's something they don't like, it's "fake news". Hahaha
