Hello everyone! As it says in the title, i'm switching to XPX. My previous sim was FSX/P3D, which was great for the addons but horrible for FPS. About 2 weeks ago I downloaded the Xplane 10 demo and it was (still is!) amazing! Just the quality of Seattle with the frames I was getting was just too great. With around everything maxed (except for HDR) I get between 25+ FPS. Now i'm thinking of buying it and making it my perm sim. I will also be buying the 777 addon and the CRJ and possibly a pilot edge sub if i enjoy the trial. I just have a few questions since i'm a complete noob . Whats the difference in all the XPX versions? For example, There is Xplane 10 and Xplane 10 + Global scenery ; XPX North america, XPX Europe.... To my understanding all X Plane 10 software packages now include global scenery unless you bought a specific region? On Amazon.fr (I live in France), the is an X-Plane 10 for 43, the only thing i'm concerned with is that it is an "Import Anglais" (English import) which is not a problem since English is my native language but will I still have global scenery? (http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B006H0YSAK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2BWG95L99NC8P) Second, I know that the demo area (Seattle) has "enhanced scenery" from what i have heard. So how is the rest of the world scenery wise? Are the still plenty of buildings? I heard that almost all airports don't have buildings or terminals? How are the 777 and CRJ aircraft on FPS? Any good scenery addons or should I keep the default? Thank you everybody for taking the time to read my post, I know it's a bit long but it will be a big step for my sim .

Hey all, I am still enamored of the X-plane helicopter experience, and as such I decided to make another playground for myself (last post was Chicago), so I converted the Aerosoft LA scenery. The scenery comes over very nicely BUT all the beautuful buildings are completly "soft" meaning you can't land on them. I did some digging and found out how to make them "hard" and landable in XPX, so I went back in and changed some of the downtown buildings. LA has TOO MANY helipads, so I just picked a select group in downtown LA, Longbeach, and a few other places to make land-able(too many and they may affect performance). Today I got to test my work with a little flight around the downtown: We start off at Santa Monica KSMO, someone was nice enough to upgrade the airport for us: Following the Santa Monica Freeway takes us right downtown, that's the Staples Center, that Big Blue Ritz Carlton is our first stop Lining up and stabilizing the descent: Bingo! Next is this one on Figueroa, I picked it because it's smaller than the one around it and there are alot of obstacles Next is the tallest building in Downtown LA, the US Bank Tower just for the view: Came in a little fast here and smashed my skids out: Reset that and try again, and we got it: Next is a short hop over to the Bank of America Tower, I think this landing pad texture is misaligned by 90 degrees, it doesn't look this way on Google Maps. Next we depart out east I wanted to get a landing in at the Hooper LAPD heliport, but I noticed the floating bridges and trains so I am going back to do some more scenery edits, maybe next post. This is the most fun I have had simming and creating in a while, and X-planes rock-steady stability has been such a welcome change. I do want to do some heli-flying in p3d2.0 with the dodosim and and I will probably do that when the sim has ripened a bit more. I am also looking hard at DCS world and their heli-addons. Thanks for Looking...

Hello everybody, a while ago (7 months+ i think) I purchased Windows 8 but quickly switched back to windows 7 because of all the issues with joysticks for FSX and so on. Now, since it's been a while and I switched to XPX and P3D V2 is coming "soon" i'm thinking of switching back. I did really like it unlike most people. I'm just curious on whether I will still have joystick issues or anything else. Thanks! P.S I have been hearing quite a lot about Win8 8.1. If i re install Win8 should I update to it?

Clouds was always something I found X-Plane 10 was lacking on, but lately I am happy. Thanks to Murmur.

cptCaptain posted a topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
I just built a new machine for Xplane and P3d. Now want to upgrade from my GTX770 to a better GPU. Should i take the TitanX or the GTX 980Ti? Is the TitanX worthe the 300€+?
