FSX Fiber Accelerator?

Featured Replies

I think Im just gonna wait awhile and see what the story is when the dust settles.   My PC runs fine.

The thread is 21 pages long, how much dust do you want? Try for yourself with the generous demo.

You should NOT have "removed .NET v4.5" at all!

This has been mentioned at least six times now just in this thread. The .NET packages are independent of one another.

lol .NET solves more problems than it creates, except that no-one knows what the problems are, why they need solving, or why they are created. :Black Eye:

Curious what are you guys using for settings now if you had fps at unlimited and it didnt run well otherwise - why I ask is the CS777 will not run smoothly without unlimited for my in sim fps count - thanks

The responses seem to be a little bit all over the place.  Generally I am extremely cautious about any software that makes big claims.  I'll let you guys beta test the stuff, then I will jump in late.   heck, I only moved over to FSX from FS9 about 4 months ago...

As I said before the Demo ran like a charm bought the product and since then does not matter what I set my FPS too as per the manual FIbre will always go to the lower set frame rate at big airports with AI flying an airliner which just causes terrible stutters especially in turns.

Yet my frames stay at 30 if NOT using Fibre and using NI half refresh rate....well as I said Ia mature the developers are looking,g into these things......but great to see others get the full benefit.

There seems to be controversy over Net Framework 3.5.1.

It is installed automatically with windows 7 and Windows 8.

To check to see if it is installed, go to Control Panel and click on Programs and Features.

Then click on Turn Windows Features on and off in the left hand column.

That is it.

FSX Fibre Accelerator works fine on my machine with a marked increase in frame rates, and if you read the manual it is very simple to set up.

To the digital natives and immigrants: I had only Net Framework 4.5.1 on my machine. As I read in the threat I should have Net Framework 3.5.1 that FA works well. After downloading 3.5 and 3.5.1 I installed both. Curios is that I do not see Net Framework 3.5.1 und Program and Functions only 4.5.1 is present. Does anybody know what this means!

Actually as far as I know is NF 3.5.1. part of NF 4.5.1. I activate it in "Windows Program and Features". Maybe this is the reason that I do not see it as it´s own installation.

Kind Regards Tim

Tim, as Paul posted above, it is installed with windows and only shows up in "Turn Windows features on & off" not in add remove.

try the demo and see for yourself, as I did  and seen an improvement on my pc, soon to bring out my cc.. That's why there is  a demo to see if works for you

What not just download the demo and try it for yourself?

Nobody else can answer your question as it all depends on your hardware,  settings and the aircraft that you fly.

Michael Turner

Just a quick question here, which I think I already know the answer to, but thought it worth checking.

I downloaded the demo, and had a look at the manual.  It says you need an active Internet connection every time you start the application.  I have my own 737 800 cockpit, and only connect to the Internet when I want to do an update, or register/activate software etc

So, in short, am I correct in saying this software is not for me because I am not connected 100% of the time?

Shame, anyway around that?

I just don't get that if I turn FA off why it would not fully return to my "regular" fps experience in high performance areas such as non-urban, mountain areas.

Probably because one or more of the things FA adjusts in FS's memory remains so adjusted. You'd need to close FS when it's on a peak not a trough, I guess.

I would have thought it possible for FA to restore things it changed before terminating, and it might be worth suggesting this to the authors via their support channel, but I've no doubt they didn't really expect folks to stop it part way through a session. Really you either use it or you don't -- after testing it to see if you like it.

I have been watching this thread with interest, especially the part where the developer states that the program makes no changes to the FSX.cfg and that the only change it makes is change the frame rate to unlimited when needed.

@vodoo try to make a new cfg. only some tweaks as Word Not Allowed suggest. Do not set your fsx settings to heavy, give it a bit space. Use NVI as Word Not Allowed suggest, maybe not the 1/2 refresh rate but vs on (I do this)

Beneath the feature what pete dowson ask for I ask for a possibillty to make setups for different planes. Why - cause different planes request different cpu and graphic power. Right now I fly the pmdg ngx. The start in edds with heavy rain asked the lower FA setting for 26 frames to stay in the green with cpu terrain power, in the air at fl380 the terrain power is at 90% but rhe fsx cpu load between 80 and 90%. With planes which are not so fsx cpu power demanding I could set it up with a hgher lower frame.

Also a shortcut for changing the lower frame slider would be very cool.

Kind regards Tom

Ps stupid me - easy to make presets with the FA settings.xml. Just some aliases on the desktop and a drop of the desired settings - done.

hello,

I only fly over photoscenery with zero autogen. Do you think that FA can have a positive impact?

Thank you

My guess is that it will do much less for you than for someone with lots of buildings/trees/autogen. That has been my experience. It is fabulous with city scenery and over Orbx areas with lots of trees and buildings. If it has to cut down the ground textures in areas like that you don't even notice it. Over photoscenery all it will have to work with is the ground texture.
