August 10, 201510 yr Moderator Let's see - how can I add to the speculation? Aha! Beau has been more active on the LM forum during the last few weeks. If he has time for that, he's NOT head down into coding so the release of V3 is going to be sooner rather than later. Works for me......... August 10, 201510 yr Oh ok, it's 128bit, DX13, and only runs on XBOX Zero and will be released when Pete comes out of retirement. Cheers, Rob.
August 10, 201510 yr Direct X 12 documentation says it only work with 64 bit, does it mean the OS must be 64bit or the application must be 64bit? Fábio Magnoni
August 10, 201510 yr Author Oh ok, it's 128bit, DX13, and only runs on XBOX Zero and will be released when Pete comes out of retirement. Cheers, Rob. Only 128Bit - I so expecting 256Bit to match my video cards. 128 Bit is so 90s thing. :-) How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)

August 11, 201510 yr Oh ok, it's 128bit, DX13, and only runs on XBOX Zero and will be released when Pete comes out of retirement. Cheers, Rob. Hahaha. It is now 2023 : I am currently beta testing v6 : just a basic install and for flying you have to login at LM as the scenery world now is online... A bit like G..gle Flightsimulator. Using the new 8k 4096x19800 122" curved widescreen monitor with rain technic ( water drops over the screen ) the new simulator starts to look great. Also the fans are working fine ( wind blowing in your face when opening a window ) There is a bit of an AA issue with my Titan XYZ 36 Gb card as it can only be set to 24x SGSS as its max, but that will be solved. The new 3D technic without glasses looks very real and no tired eyes afterwards... August 11, 201510 yr Let's be sarcastic and cynical to break this enthousiasm v3 will still have popcorn clouds with REX. But even more of them. v3's sceneries will still have blinking/disappearing runway lights. v3's VAS usage will be increased. v3's will be optimized for DX12 but will have compat. issues with DX11. v3 will run better on W10/DX12 but you will loose 10FPS if you use 7/DX11. v3's compatibility list with existing add-ons will be broken even more. v3's you gotta pay again for it. v3's PMDG you gotta pay again for it too. v3 will be more expensive than v2. v3's PMDG price see point just above. v3's will see a whole lotsof "reboot" and "NG" for many add-ons. Priced accordingly. v3 puts your tweaks back to the bin, and starts over again v3 I will buy it anyways  -Jerome "In thrust we trust"

August 11, 201510 yr My only wish is that v3 would retain 2.5 compatibility with most add-ones. 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.

August 11, 201510 yr Rob, great news. The only thing that I am hoping for is an anti distortion fix for multimonitor setups... I don't understand this surround distortion issue that many here are talking about unless it is an issue exclusively with P3D. Games that are played in Nvidia surround will ALL have this stretched fisheye look on the side monitors when facing forward. It's just part of the price you pay for surround play. I have been playing games and simming in surround since 2007 when TH2G came out. I moved to 3D surround 3 years ago or so and the fish eye issue is and always will be part of the compromise. I have no idea how P3D handles surround since I can't seem to find any info on the web if triple monitor surround resolutions are supported in this sim. I have found some threads that say they are but SLI doesn't work which I'm not sure how that's possible. I've also found some that say there is a significant performance hit with surround in P3D whereas with FSX there was none. If that's the case then potentially for me P3D will perform much worse than FSX. I was actually going to buy P3D this weekend but now I'm reading that V3 is coming out I don't want to spend $60 now just to have to spend another $60 when the new version is released.
