How I Know P3D 4.0 Is Just Around The Corner

.. why would they announce V4 somewhere that wasn't their core market?

Well they are doing just that - for whatever reason

I guess if you have to split hairs, none of us here are officially 'gaming' with P3D.  We are 'learning' or 'training', right?   By those definitions, we are actually part of their target market. however modest it may be.

They are 'attending' yes, note the difference between that and 'exhibiting' on the FSC2017 website, so it's a bit of a leap to assume that they're announcing v4 there?

You're right.  I thought they were actually on the presentation schedule - which I see they are not.  Oh well.

My notoriously gossipy aunt 'Loose-lips Lizzie' holds secrets better than the current White House.

This is the company that built the U-2, SR-71 and F-117 after all.

Will be interesting if they release this at the same time as DTG FSW early access becomes available.

That's why IMO  that DTG has now rushed out an early access version of FSW. Remember  long ago back when the rumors were flying that DTG was readying FSW for release, Laminar pushed the first beta of XP11 out the door to users.

The mice are fearful of the cat.

I don't think that DTG getting a £20 download out to market first will stop anyone from buying P3Dv4.  P3D users will want P3D.    Those who were not committed to paying $200 in the first instance will of course go for FSW

I think you're right in that respect.

Not if the only upgrage to P3D V4 is 64 bit, if so i'll just stick with P3D v3.4 for now but might still try FSW, remember if you buy FSW on steam you can get a refund if it's not very good.

AMD 9800X3D,  NZXT X73 RGB AIO COOLER, Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite WIFI7, 64GB 6000MHZ RAM, 4TB Samsung Pro NVME, 4 TB Crucial P3+ NVME, 4TB Crucial SSD, Gigabyte Gaming OC Geforce RTX5090, Antec C8 ARGB Case, X55 JOYSTICK/THROTTLES, LG 4K C4 42" TV/Monitor 120 Hz, 2 Dell 1080 monitors. Honeycomb Alpha Yoke, Bravo Throttle. Thrustmaster TPR Pedals. Moza AB6 FFB Joystick, Pimax Crystal Light VR, Tobii Eye tracker, Steelseries Arctis 7+ Wireless Headphones.

The low buy in price is certainly a winner from DTG, i'll definitely be making the purchase, it's only £20...less than a Carenado addon.

P3Dv4 is almost certainly going to be close to £150...but considering PMDG have already said they will update there Aircraft to P3Dv4 at least, i think it's also a must buy for me at least.

How can you even compare FSW and and P3D V4... literally like comparing Carenado to PMDG.

How do you know that?

It's likely that both platforms will be 64-bit, both are based on FSX, i'll put money that there is little difference between them.  Being honest i wasn't overly impressed with the DTG demo, still saw blurries, stutters etc...  But they also exist in P3D right now, i don't see v4 being massively different.
