I did see a likeness for the Captain Cook bridge and the Goodwill bridge but they were admittedly quite indistinct. May all your landings be safe ones! Hugh Costello - NZWN

October 10, 20196 yr Oops, was that a crash/error for the guy in the back durig the final seconds of the video? Great video and I hope we will see a lot more in the months to come, although I'm not sure if it makes the wait easier or even harder.

I’ve spent most of my working life in municipal government in roles that involved extensive public consultation. This reminds me of the type of tool we would use, rare certainly for any game development, never mind a flight sim. Amazing! 3 hours ago, RamonB said: Thank You Microsoft. That about sums it up! Outside aerial cities, specific autogen will be needed. I don't think Azure has the ability to identify the types of trees or roads, 3D building autogen, in every region. OrbX would create all these things. Of course that doesn't mean the default is bad. That’s not what they said in the video, all cities on earth, all airports on earth, all roads on earth and all mountains on earth. See the screen shots of the bullet points. Azure is going to generate and detect all tress in the world, etc, etc. Based on the two screen shots of bullet points for what they have and what they will generate using Azure, I don’t think there will be a whole lot of scenery development needed by 3rd party, unless it’s for even more detailed airports or very specific scenery items. October 10, 20196 yr Our current simulators all have a pretty sad way of showing us the terrain, autogen buildings/cities and everything else. We never really could actually explore the world. Only a poorly auto-generated texture repeating low level of detail blurries everywhere bland experience. With this we will... actually ...be able to explore the world. Let that sink in. Is it done yet? When will it be released? Will it be freeware or payware? How much will it cost? Any updates on the progress? Will it work for Xbox? Can I be a beta tester? How's the performance in VR?

It's a descendant of the "comment on an article based upon its headline, without ever reading the article". I'm not sure anything is more frustrating online in comments/forums than this behavior.

And what if we don't have money for petrol to drive to the shops. I'm sure there'll be a distribution model which will support physical disks. I'm not really sure what you are getting at here. How will FS2020 differ from FSX in that regard?

Also, how do I get it if I don't have a computer? /s I have to think Microsoft is safe in assuming that a very large portion of their demographic for a new "flight simulator" has "an internet connection" at least part of the time.
