November 6, 20205 yr Already bought it so i can customize my controls by aircraft and properly setup the reverse range on my TQ6. Lee No one seems to care about autosave on this forum. It's ridiculous that a game prone to random CTDs doesnt have an integrated autosave, just some half assed cumbersome manual save function that doesnt reload the flight with FMC and weather conditions half the time. I paid $30 for P3D's FSUIPC, and autosave is the only function I ever used. I will not be dishing out more money again to autosave in MSFS.
November 6, 20205 yr Need it for all my Panelsoftware, so I buy it right now. 😔 Thank God that i stop smoking 🤣 Stephan from Germany My System
November 6, 20205 yr Not sure if I’ll need it anymore. My controllers are actually properly setup in-sim, so I guess I’d have to give second thoughts before going further with FSUIPC. November 6, 20205 yr FSUIPC is a "Must Have!" for me. FSUIPC7 is in my shopping cart at SimMarket right now and soon to be on my computer. Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)
November 6, 20205 yr Its definitely a must for me. Haven't been able to sim without it in any of the previous sims and since acquiring a Logitech G940 which has always had calibration issues. This gives me the ability to manage them by aircraft. I have a thrust master warthog set, PFC yoke and a saitek 3 lever quadrant. For all of my Airbus aircraft, I use my thrust master warthog set. For all other aircraft, I use the PFC yoke and saitek quadrant. If it's a 3 engine aircraft, saitek for throttles and PFC throttle for spoilers. If it's a 4 engine aircraft saitek lever 1 and 2 control left and right engines while 3 controls spoilers. If it's a twin jet, same thing as 4 engine jets. If it's a turbo prop, same setup. FSUIPC makes it easy to operate with different aircraft, controllers and axes. Rick You know you can create different control profiles in the sim right? there is an arrow right below the device you are using and you can make different control schemes depending on your aircraft. Like I have one control scheme for my throttle called "prop" and another for Jets, and I switch between the two depending on what I am flying. I won't dissuade you from using it but claiming it is only possible with $30 piece of addon software is a tad disingenuous to other people who might be new, see that and think "word not allowed it isn't possible." November 6, 20205 yr I wouldn't want to be without FSUIPC. I have used it extensively in FSX, P3D and now MSFS2020. Besides all the additional controller options it provides, the Lua scripting capability is very powerful, and allows me to almost do away with having to use mouse click spots. For example, one Lua script lets me enter headings, courses, Com, Nav and ADF radio frequencies, altitudes, transponder codes, etc., just by typing the numbers on the keyboard -- no messing with little click spots while bouncing around. FSUIPC7 uses Simconnect which still has not been fully developed by Asobo, so currently there are some limitations as there are for other addon developers. Regardless, I find FSUIPC7 to be a great addon for MSFS2020. To get an idea of FSUIPC's capabilities, you can download documentation from here. https://forum.simflight.com/topic/66137-documentation/ I'm not sure what the state is of the FSUIPC7 documentation since things change a bit with MSFS2020's SDK changes, but reading the FSUIPC6 User's Guide, and Advanced User's Guide, will give you a very good indication of FSUIPC7's capability. November 6, 20205 yr Commercial Member I used FSUIPC for years, that is until SPADnext came around. I prefer the graphical interface, easy to switch aircraft to a different profiles, use other simmer's profiles, works with all my Saitek/Logitech/GoFlight panels and flight hardware. So I will take a pass from now on. November 6, 20205 yr I tried the free beta and the first thing I wanted to do with it was to take the default user-assignable cockpit view keys, Alt-1 etc, and assign these to unused buttons on my yoke. No go--FSUIPC was not able to use Alt-1/2/3 etc as a key combination, so haven't looked at FSUIPC since. That problem is likely due to the current poor condition of the MSFS SimConnect. There is a similar issue with the Number Pad number keys. Presently due to a bug, the SDK doesn't correctly send these keystrokes over SimConnect. It is these kind of issues that are holding back the development of complex addons. I wish Asobo would put more emphasis, than what it seems they are, on SDK development. The number pad bug was reported by John Dowson (FSUIPC7 developer) quite a while ago, but is still not fixed. November 6, 20205 yr YES, YES & YES! I will always support whatever @Pete Dowson and @John Dowson create- pure genius and very necessary for me with all my HW. C Best- Carl Avari-Cooper
November 6, 20205 yr Since I don't have ties back to any prior sim, I'm really trying to avoid buying more "stuff" until Asobo get a handle on a lot of the basic issues that need to be fixed. From the perspective of a new person, I'll look for free alternatives and exhaust those before trying anything else. This might change 6 months or a year down the line if I feel like I can trust that the APIs and SDK are stable and things I buy won't be wiped out by some poorly thought out change on Asobo's side.
