There is a checkbox for multi-monitor you need to check to resolve this issue.

did not work for me. checkbox on or off. no change. but when i check this, then on my 2nd screen i can not see the mousepointer.
so i am happy to get fix stutterless 60 fps on my system, and that is smooth enough for me. 🙂

    I just upgraded my 3080ti to a 40 series for $6.99 lol.

  • Ok @David Roch I really thought this was going to be the latest "double your FPS" scam out there but I am literally in disbelief.  Thank you for bringing this to my attention.  I decided to give it

  • A little offtopic here but this software works wonders in xplane 12 too. From 40fps to 100fps with all settings maxed out at 4k. It's pure magic. I am speechless honestly.

Because they have to use the Steam client to boot MSFS anyway, and you have to use the Steam client to boot Lossless Scaling in the same way.

You can actually set the program to start with Windows or pin it to the task bar or setup a desktop shortcut and not have to open it with Steam.

All Programs we buy on Steam, are only working when Steam is running in background. My MSFS is MSStore, so in will not have Steam in Background...

This is my hesitation in buying this program.  I don't want to have to install Steam.  I wonder if this can be installed on a separate computer with Steam and then "extracted" out to the flight sim computer and ran outside of Steam?  I'm guessing by the way Alti's statement is worded that this is not possible?  I'm not a Steam user so I'm not sure how that part works.

You can just run the LosslessScaling.exe in the steamapps folder. The Steam Client won't launch, just the LSFG tool. Just verified it 🙂

I've tried it with my TV's Frame interpolation stacked on top. I set my refresh rate to 50hz then set NCP global 3D setting Max Frame rate to 50 and MSFS NCP 3D Setting Max Frame Rate to 25. So the sim gives the app 25fps, the app makes that 50fps and the TV turns 50fps in 100fps. Their were noticeable artifacts but it was close. I'll experiment with it a bit more and see how 30 to 60 to 120 looks. Probably worse. But it was incredibly smooth!🤣

Had a chance to go back and try with LS on and FG mod off.  That got rid of the studders/blurries for me.  LS and FG mod weren't playing nice together apparently.

Also had no problem running AutoFPS and LS together.

Your results may vary.

So that's still with Steam installed on the same computer as flight sim, right?  What if you were to install LSFG on a separate computer with Steam and then copy the LosslessScaling.exe to the flight sim computer(No Steam installed at all) and run it that way?  In other words, not installing Steam at all on the flight sim computer but still running the LosslessScaling.exe on the flight sim computer.

Yes, I cant emphasise enough, and for some reason it wasn't clear to me.  You have to get rid of your current FG solution before using this mod

I dont know why I didnt assume that, but I didn't, and it was a stuttery mess with both on.  Even when I disabled the FG in the sim, but still had the DLL file, it was dreadful.

So I made the necessary setting changes on my TV so that I can activate the TV's own Frame interpolation at 60hz and I've tried the app with MSFS Max Frame Rate set to 30fps in NCP. I was very surprised to see that it worked and the app delivered 60fps to the TV and the TV displayed 120fps on screen. It was just about as smooth as anything I've ever seen with very little evidence of artifacts beyond what I had seen before using TV Frame interpolation alone. Remarkable!

Not sure why, but after tinkering with many options (LSFG, NVCP, in-game settings) now, each time I activate LSFG, I lost around 10 FPS (in-game). Even if afterwards this gets the x2 treatment, the gain is much less than before. Any idea of what could be causing this?

This app really works! It's butter smooth, rock solid at 60FPS in practically all situations.

I only have one issue. I use TrackIR with no "smoothing". I use 1:1 template and it worked for me since FSX days. With LSFG I really get butter smooth performance without a single stutter even on big airports. The issue i mentioned is a slight, just a tiny, delay when "looking around" using TrackIR. It's not 1:1 anymore but more like a "smoothing" template, if you know what I mean.

My question would be. Anyone using TIR, do you have the same experience and did you figure out any solution to that? I mean, we're talking about milliseconds here, but it's a delay and it's noticeable.

Complete turnaround for me compared to my earlier post: for unknown reasons, this now works perfectly for me.  In my test case, I get 67 FPS with FG and no LS, but 100 FPS with FG and LS.  Much smoother panning now.  I do occasionally get into a 'de-sync' situation where it gets stuttery - usually when interacting with FSHud or some external window - but toggling LS off and then back on, once MSFS is back in focus, fixes it every time.  I didn't even bother setting the Max Frame Rates in NVCP, as even with this tool, at my 2x4k resolution I'm never going to go over 144 FPS (my monitors' native refresh rate).

I've tried just about every combination of settings I can, going back to DX11 even, changing Vsync on/off (in game and Nvidia), Triple Buffering, Pre Rendered Frames, RTSS / no RTSS, Hardware GPU scheduling (DX12) vs not (DX11) etc. No matter what I'm getting a consistent screen judder about every second. Tried the performance mode in Lossless Scaling but no difference there. Has anybody else had the consistent judder/stutter? And have been able to pinpoint a conflicting setting

I have read this whole forum in it's length but unfortunately might just be something about my system/settings. Will need a weekend to really test things in depth

how to run this together with autofps?

What I've done is to set target to 2-3 FPS lower than the "base" (non-lossless) FPS. As AutoFPS is not "aware" of lossless FPS. If that makes sense.

Also, I've got "base" FPS locked to 30 with RTSS in front edge sync mode (credit to @Noel). This gives me the most smooth, stutter-free experience. When running lossless in x2 mode, I get 60 FPS (I don't really need any higher than that). Finally, my TV native refresh rate is 120Hz. I've set it to 60Hz with base FPS locked to 30. That gives me the least amount of tearing (since G-Sync is incompatible with lossless).
