A miracle ? LSFG (Lossless Scaling Frame Generation)

That gives me the least amount of tearing (since G-Sync is incompatible with lossless).

So perhaps this is what I am doing wrong? To set a refresh rate I find I must turn Vsync "on".  Lossless brings my MSFS to it's knees whether running AutoFPS or not.  Same lack of performance was there when I systematically reversed each of the steps for positioning the FG mod (RTX3080).  I cannot set the FPS setting in MSFS without Vsync on.  So I have at this time gone back to the FG mod and AutoFPS where performance continues to be awesome.   Appears Lossless is either stellar for some but the opposite from stellar for others.  Has to be a reason.  When my MSFS really bows down is upon hot key execution to activate Lossless.

The other side of the coin is perhaps I have my MSFS settings too high for Lossless.  But those same settings run flawlessly with FG mod and AutoFPS.  I am confused and conflicted here.

    I just upgraded my 3080ti to a 40 series for $6.99 lol.

  • Ok @David Roch I really thought this was going to be the latest "double your FPS" scam out there but I am literally in disbelief.  Thank you for bringing this to my attention.  I decided to give it

  • A little offtopic here but this software works wonders in xplane 12 too. From 40fps to 100fps with all settings maxed out at 4k. It's pure magic. I am speechless honestly.

I am not seeing the results I expected based on all the positive comments I read here.

With no Lossless scaling running but with Frame Gen on I see 55 to 70 FPS  (flying out of KTIW) with nothing in my community folder.  When I turn FG off I see 27 to 35 FPS.

I turn Lossless scaling ON with Frame Gen ON and I see 28 to 35 FPS - YES Lossless cuts my frame rate in half with FG on.  With FG off and Lossless scaling ON I see 27 - 35 FPS i.e. NO improvement.

The above is with Lossless at 2.1 and X2 with Scaling OFF or ON (makes no difference to results).  The status section does show MSFS and the correct scaling info.

When I use the Assetto Corsa (auto race sim) BenchMark I see 90 FPS with FG on and Lossless scaling off.  When I turn Lossless scaling ON I see NO change in the benchmark FPS, variance, max FPS or CPU utilization.

What am I doing wrong?

Are you sure about those framerates with lossless on. You must check the box in FSFG mod to display fps. All other fps displays are not the truth. For instance the Steam fps display, or Riva Tuner. These all lie about the fps when using this mod.

5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB  PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

TBH I’m not sure this is working for me either. I believe it’s usually smoother with it on, but when the frames get lower in busy areas or going near / through clouds (which my rig has always hated for some reason) it starts to stutter in a similar way to before.

I’d feel a lot more confident about improvement if the app would display FPS, but for some reason it absolutely will not display them onscreen on my setup.

More snake oil nonsense that gives you more issues than positive results. The YouTuber who makes these clips never shows the mod in heavily populated PG areas or with a complex plane because he knows the performance will tank and cause stutters.

Bottom line is FG and FG mods only work if you're getting decent FPS without FG. If you're only getting, say, 20 FPS, the FG will increase the FPS but it won't be fluid and will introduce stutters. Another negative is GPU temps will climb.

This app really works! It's butter smooth, rock solid at 60FPS in practically all situations.

I only have one issue. I use TrackIR with no "smoothing". I use 1:1 template and it worked for me since FSX days. With LSFG I really get butter smooth performance without a single stutter even on big airports. The issue i mentioned is a slight, just a tiny, delay when "looking around" using TrackIR. It's not 1:1 anymore but more like a "smoothing" template, if you know what I mean.

My question would be. Anyone using TIR, do you have the same experience and did you figure out any solution to that? I mean, we're talking about milliseconds here, but it's a delay and it's noticeable.

Im having this issue with LLS as well. Its very very minor but noticeable to me since I use track IR all the time.

Just recorded a video in the Fenix with 100% AIG traffic from iniBuilds KJFK to Drcewicki’s KDCA. That’s more than 300 AI aircraft in the vicinity at JFK. This wouldn’t have been possible without the mod (FPS 38 with 4090 FG without lossless).

Yes this app is a game changer. You'll need to have your sim well tuned for 30fps but it certainly doubles the FPS and the generated frames are very smooth. You'll see a particular improvement in panning. I just completed a short GA flight from YYJ to Friday Harbour in the A2A Cherokee. It's a first for me to see 120fps on screen with all the MSFS graphics setting maxed out with the sim set to 30fps, 2x FG in the app and TV frame interpolation set to max at 60hz for 120fps smooth on screen. Full disclosure their is virtually no difference between 60fps and 120fps in MSFS but to be honest I think I could see it. Quite remarkable. If you're having trouble with it hang in there and figure it out. This is far superior to the FSR hack doing the rounds a while back. Take a deep breath and figure it out. It is a huge leap forward!

I've just installed this "miracle"?

How can I proof that it is running within MSFS. I don't see any notice. Also no fps (from LS) are displayed. And yes I have that switch on.

You say when you press the hot key that you setup AND, you have SHOW FPS, you do not see frames? See below. I have a 3080 and that was on Medium, sense then I have  gone to Most ultra and getting 75 to 85 FPS

Look again in the upper left corner of the screen it read 30/60 is light grey so its easy to miss. I believe its means 30 in and 60 out. Its very faint in appearance and easy to miss if you are used to looking at bold read FPS counters

Thats correct

I tried that miracle now several days, but do not get it to work reliable.

First startup is good for a while, but during flight setup it starts to stutter and even completely freeze (you can hear in that the sim is still woking normally in the background).

Switching windows and back to MSFS resolves it sometime or disabling and enabling LLS solves it for a while.

But never had more than 5 minutes of fluid sim with it.

Tried all settings.

I have 3 monitors, in the middle is just MSFS running, left and right for several tools like Navigraph, Volanta etc.
I have the impression LLS does get out of sync if I switch many times between applications and then starts to stutter or freeze.

So far, FSR3 Mod is much more reliable for me currently.

Absolutely, after 15 pages of positive feedback we all must be wrong and our sim now has more issues than we noticed. Deary me. 🙄

got that miracle thing but so far not convinced. fps less than with the DLSSG FSR3 mod. but something must be wrong despite I followed (tried to) the youtube vid in the first post. what bothers me most ist that with the LS program running my screen colour changes completely, or is it the temperature? Or contrast. cannot tell but screen gets much darker and washed out. must be on my end since when I capture a screen using Windows I cannot see any changes. So I had to take a picture with my phone off the screen, see below. HDS in WIn is disabled, as well as in MSFS, exptected that first. any idea is appreciated

There are people using this application who haven't read through this thread or watched any videos in length on how it works. Just blindly jumping in and then complaining when it doesn't work.

Why are people using it with the FG mod??? For the love of sweet baby moses 😆

Its at times like these I understand the lads over at PMDG and Asobo. Seriously.
