Biggest info for me was that MSFS20 PD owners are getting the airplane upgrades, even if they don´t buy the new PD edition

We'll see what kind of magic they pulled out of their hat when it's time. Assuming it's not much, otherwise they'd be gloating over it, which they clearly aren't and you could sense they absolutely hated answering questions about ATC throughout the entire stream.

Hey @Rimshot I tried - but now have to report that my glass of Sangria I'm enjoying whilst on hols in Menorca is half empty too.

In other news I'm going for the free Standard edition with my gamepass account,no way am I shelling out on £120 for another prem deluxe edition when the market place questions have not been answered, and there still isn't any news regarding the extra airports.

 

I could go on but don't want to spoil the rest of my evening

I cannot see any comments regarding that here - probably no surprise there.

 

Anyway it's one of the biggest selling points to the open market - actually it's probably the No1 - yet 3rd parties cannot create missions - 🤔

I don't know if this was covered. around 44 minutes in they said if you buy 2024 premium then you get 40 improved airports (improved over 2020 version of the same premium airports), If you buy the standard then you get 30 improved airports over the 2020 version. deluxe is 35.

All the airports in the world updated, city update, 40th update, etc. are improved. If you have those WUs etc. installed in content manager or markeplace free, then they will look much better than the 2020 version. GAYA sim did this work on all of these Asobo airports.

In other words 2024 premium gets you better versions of the same premium assets than 2020 premium had.

That is very cool. I was interested in the idea of historical weather, but didn’t really want to fly in yesterday’s dusk with today’s mid-morning GA traffic.

Looks like they’ve solved that, but that is a hell of a lot of data they’re keeping just for 24 hrs.

lol 3rd party cannot create missions? What is their obsession with limiting what 3rd parties can add to their sim.

I just rewatched the stream. When someone asked about mods for career or missions Asobo responded "not at the moment" they need figure out "text/script" for other people to make own missions. So it doesn't mean you can't it means it will be available later when they create a system through which you can pipe your script. That is all

Which edition to buy, study the answers at 1:32:32 and forward.

My interpretation, which may or may not be correct: It is foolish for someone with steam 2020 to buy ms store 2024. It foolish for someone with ms store 2020 to buy steam 2024. Because you would lose content, perhaps lots of content, depending on how much you have purchases from the marketplace.

If you own Premium 2020 and ponder whether to buy either Premium or Deluxe or Standard 2024, it will make no difference at all between those 3 choices when it comes to the MS / Asobo airports and aircraft already in 2020, except the price you pay for 2024. Because you already own all premium content from 2020 which will work in 2024 and will be the upgraded to the 2024 version.

But when it comes to new aircraft created for 2024 that were not in 2020, there is a difference

2024 standard  $69

 

2024 deluxe 35 new aircraft $99

Hmmm....I thought it seemed like v2020 D/PD aircraft were to be xferable...?

It would make sense to me, but the recent FAQ update seemed to indicate that v2020 Premiums would xfer forward even to down-level Editions...

(I don't personally care because I want all the new aircraft, anyway, so I'm getting whatever "old" addons that ends up including)

Never mind - seems multiple people heard the planes xfer forward.
