They know there's always no shortage of impressionable folk who love to pile on once the momentum gets going. I often find myself feeling empathy for the underdog having been there a time or two myself as most of us have. That's not always beneficial because at times there is good reason they are the underdog. I just don't like to see folk being disrespected or insulted or called a liar on a hobby forum. I'm sure Microsoft like most companies has a very competent legal team if they need defending and can get by without forum thugs looking out for them. No one in mind, just wonder. There were a few, and they have been eliminated when discovered due to their constant negative opinions of other developer's work! Many have tried sneaking back in! 🥷 Charlie AronAVSIM Board of Directors-ADMIN/Moderator-RegistrarJust going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. I suspect it's not an easy, nor thankful, role. I concur, they do a very good job of not overreacting and putting such a damper on discussion that its scope and depth is shaped into something so restricted it doesn't really represent how users think and feel. It's not an easy nor thankful role and they're only human like the rest of us. October 16, 20241 yr I don't comment here often anymore but I do read threads that interest me without comment. At my age there are a lot of things I no longer understand. I would say, however, this entire thread is a sign of the times. I reside in an old folks home now and a common attitude among us is we lived in the best of times and are entering the worst of times. That's not necessarily true. It's just that most of us oldsters (three of our community celebrated 100 year old birthdays this month) don't understand today's society anymore. A lot opinion differences are generational...like civility. I suspect many who participate on this forum are late teenagers and those in their 20s. I am 90 and have never had a Facebook account or participated in social media save this forum. I say this as a person who has to have his replies approved by a moderator before it is published due to my improper sounding off several years ago. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. There is so very many people who dedicate their time, energy and expertise to eliminate problems and to help people who are not able to sort out a specific problem, be that a bug or simply a problem with hardware or software. Having been a recipient of an incredible amount of help and advice here over the years, I am very able to tolerate or ignore any toxicity in this forum. Toxicity is only effective when people respond to and take the baits offered. It is not something we are actually forced to take on board and lose sleep over. I would like to raise a huge shoutout to everyone who goes the extra mile to help people and they are simply far too numerous to mention here My guess is that there is a ratio between toxic OPs and helpful respondents of about 1 to 100. So very easy to ignore without effort. Peace to all and I believe that I am just one who loves this forum. Regards Tony Tony Chilcott. My System. Motherboard. October 17, 20241 yr The best comments were those from guys denying any toxicity and answering with a very….toxic comment. Luckily those were deleted by the moderators who are doing a good job in my opinion. It’s just funny here sometimes. i9 12900k, RTX 3090, 32GB RAM

October 17, 20241 yr Well I have to say I find things quite gentlemanly here compared to the real world aviation forums such as pprune. I’ve been an airline pilot over 30 years, with the last 20 years of that being in command of heavy Boeings, so I could probably hold my own against anyone on those real world pilot forums, however I don’t go near them, the levels of arrogance is just astounding. I much prefer it here. When questions come up about real world operations I try to answer where I can, and hopefully not in a patronising manner. And the same can be said for all the other RW pilots we have here, who I feel share a similar outlook and character, with their interest in simulation. In return I sometimes have questions about the hardware or software which I have limited knowledge and these are then answered in a kindly fashion by more knowledgeable members. 787 captain.
