PMDG 777F Remains in Holding with an Unclear EDCT: There have been a ton of questions about our plans for the 777F as it relates to MSFS2020 and MSFS2024. We are not saying much on this topic because there is still so much that we do not understand about how the process of cross-platform development, distribution, sales and support are to operate. We have some high level understanding of the process based upon publicly available information provided by the various Microsoft developer briefings, but the information is both plentiful and inconclusive at least in terms of helping us to fully understand what we will be working with- so we are saying *nothing* until we have a clearer understanding. This is also causing us to slow to holding speed when it comes to releasing the 777F, because you should reasonably expect us to be able to tell you what to expect in terms of 2020/2024 as it relates to your PMDG purchase. Since we don't feel we have the information we need yet- we think it is better not to add a product to the active product line if it isn't entirely clear what the pathway forward looks like. Bottom line is that I don't like to give you a guarantee only to then come back and say "well after we said that, we learned something that changed the rules...." So give us a bit of time to keep running down the details we need, please- and once we know what to expect from the transition period- we'll communicate that to you, along with our release plans for this airplane! ..... PMDG 747 for Microsoft Flight Simulator: Work continues forward on the 747 product line, and in keeping with our goal to give you greater insight into the development process, you can expect to begin seeing more and more of this product in updates moving forward. Obviously, our development priorities right now are the 777 and getting through the Snake-Digesting-A-Rat process of moving products into MSFS2024... but the 747 team is hard at work and we want you to be able to see how the process is progressing! For this project, we have an unprecedented level of access to a broad range of expertise that is really going a long way toward making the PMDG 747 for Microsoft Flight Simulator a "lifetime project" for many of us. Our first 747-400 product released back in 2005, and we are proud to be building this project out to eventually cover the entire span of the 747 product line, exclusively for use in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The initial entries will be the 747-100 and the 747-400 series, but the product line will grow to include other variants such as the much loved 747SP over time. We are also presented with some unique opportunities through our contacts to create some special projects representing the various interesting missions that the 747 airplane has served, from RA001, the original test-flight bird, to Air Force One and beyond. This product is intended to be a love-letter to this iconic, world-changing airliner- and we will take you along with us on this journey. A number of us on this development have worked in/on/around 747s most of our careers, and it is really exciting to us that Microsoft has given us a platform to really bring this airplane to life. An enormous effort has been undertaken to gain access to specific airframes to kit out our development- and we will share some of that process in the months ahead. ..... November 1, 20241 yr I hope they do the 747-200/SUD option to it / 747-300 too😍🥰🤩 That would be magnanimous!! Woo wee. Just as hot as having a A340 in msfs one day haha. November 1, 20241 yr Kind of annoyed that the 777F hasn't been released as yet but i cant lay blame at their feet as we are in transition. I'm just a touch tired of flying smaller jets and the A300 with that ATC bug which inibuilds says is not important enough to fix at the moment. November 1, 20241 yr We'll wait forever for the -200ER variants I'm afraid... but hey they announced another project!

Many such cases... they also broke the VNAV on anything with a window altitude at the start of the summer and have no updates about a fix. It took them 3 months to admit the issue. I'll wait for the 777F patiently - like you said it's a transition time. It's tough to put anything out now when you can be pretty confident it'll break in 2 weeks if customers follow the recommended Microsoft customer journey, which is upgrading to 2024 as soon as it comes out.
November 1, 20241 yr Disappointed not to see the B777F...although, not totally surprised. Didn't we witness something similar in the waning days of P3D prior to MSFS2020 with the B777? I recall buying that overpriced EFB option with the "promise" of new cockpit graphics in P3D...vaporware!
November 1, 20241 yr 19 minutes ago, cepact said: as always they just blame microsoft for any delay, pathetic. I guess? I mean, most devs are waiting for more information from Asobo before they comment on 2024 compatibility, or any costs associated, so it's not like their statement is unjustified. What I think some would be upset about, perhaps rightfully so, is that they decided to forego just releasing it for 2020 first, in favor of waiting for 2024.
November 1, 20241 yr Meh. The bar is very high after the 777v2; the 747-100 will need to be amazingly feature rich to capture any of my interest.

November 1, 20241 yr I wonder how popular the 747-100 will be over the 747-400 & -8? I see it as a niche aircraft for those old school sim pilots found on Avsim, 😀. As someone who has ridden on some classics like the 727, 747-100/200, DC-10 and L-1011. I don't see me getting the 100 or SP and I own every PMDG product to include the 757 for Fly2. The only one I never bought is the DC-6. This should be an interesting release.
