Lefteris is posting in the forums but they are not answering the direct question if we need the CEO in order to get the NEO later. Granted there is a discount price mentioned for the NEO but I don't want to be forced to purchase a $69.99 USD CEO when I don't need one. 

It's a simple question, is the NEO a standalone or an expansion?

Sounds like FSLabs is up to there old ways if the NEO is only an expansion. They charge $69.99 for the CEO and what ever they charge for the NEO. If it's a standalone then it would be cheaper then the CEO for the fact it's only one variant with two engine options.

I reckon they will make a decision on the sales of the CEO. If it sells poorly, they will more than likely make the NEO an expansion. 
 

I’ll only get the NEO if it’s seperate. Not buying another 321 ceo again. 

Any ideas what version of the NEO they're doing? 

I'd buy it if it was a package of the NEO, XL, & XLR.

It was never gonna be huge - P3D pricing levels would've made it DOA in MSFS, especially considering Fenix and all the other A32x's available.

$70 is right in line with where it "should" be given the other Hi Fi airliners and direct competition. $5 more than Fenix, a few $ less than PMDG's 738, $20-ish less than Leonardo, et al.

The price for the A320 in P3D with Sharklets was/is $210(!).

If you want the A321, you MUST buy the 320, then add ANOTHER $120(!) to get the 321 with Sharklets.

I just wasn't ever enough of a fan to fork over that amount of dough for a single aisle airliner...

And really, we SHOULD compare the price to Fenix, because that's pretty much what EVERYONE is going to do, especially since their first release is also going to be the CEO.

The good news is that there will be TWO "study level" A32x's in the market. Both so good that we'll need the IRL Airbus ATP's to help us evaluate which one to get! 🙂

Both are well beyond my airliner wannabe skills, so I'll choose whichever hand-flies the best. 😎

If he's not answering, then he's already answered what he INTENDS to do.

In fairness, it's pretty much the same what Fenix have done with their expansion, as well.

I already have an A320, but I would buy an A319 if it were stand alone. Since I can't, then Fenix gets nothing from me...

Glad they finally made an announcement after all this time.
 

Need the NEO to be stand alone, which I would gladly purchase.

But I’ll pass on it if it comes as an expansion, even if there is a discount with the CEO, which I’m not buying. 

I also hope they’re making headways in the speed. Look at how quickly Fenix has managed to get an “experimental” version out for FS24. Back in the P3D days every time there was an update to the P3D core version the FSlabs needed a fix before it’s usable…

This was because they version locked it - it would probably actually run fine in the sim, but if the version mismatched the DLL it would fail. I think this was another attempt at DRM.

Releasing the NEO as an expansion for the CEO would be a very bad move. Since a rather large number of potential A321 customers will already own the Fenix version of the A321 CEO, forcing them to buy it again would hit sales of the NEO very hard.

If that's the case then its definitely a hard pass. I have no interest in their CEO. I would have considered giving them a shot with the NEO but i'm not buying another A321 just to "upgrade to a neo". Nope.. non starter...

IS FSLabs planning to make an A319 and A320 as well?

If not this limits my interest!

Personally I won't be purchasing any more software/addons from FSLabs. 

Given their whole incident-which-must-not-be-named and their - in my opinion - general lack of forthcoming and disingenous demeanor, I really dislike them. Sorry.

In my personal view, Fenix is a much better developer, seen from a customers perspective. They're nice and forthcoming. Have transparency and display passion for what they're doing. It's clear that they like what they're doing and they like their customers and it shows. They're clear about expectations and they're clear and honest of setting set expectations for themselves and their customers, so you know what to expect and - more importantly what not to expect.

Whether or not, the Fenix A320-series will be better/worse from a technical- and feature-wise perspective? I don't know, and honestly I don't really care. I'd rather have a less feature-rich addon (the Fenix at it's current level is more than enough for me!), than supporting a developer who's attitude and business operations, I dislike.

Forgive me, but this is not what is written. The announcement says:

As a token of appreciation, customers who purchase the A321ceo between now and the A321neo release will be eligible for a discount on the A321neo. I

According to the statement above, you can buy the Ceo and get a discount on the Neo, but if you don't, you buy the Neo without a discount.
