BeyondATC at it's best....

Hey at least you got traffic. After SI completely botching a few flights I thought I’d go back to BATC and see where it is now. Got the well-documented (but no solution) “no traffic liveries found” error so no traffic at all. And, yes, I posted on their Discord and have gotten no response. Both ATC solutions seem to break as much as they fix with each update.

The AI in P3Dv4 did a solid job of directing aircraft correctly on the ground. It is a shame that MSFS is more last generation than next generation in this respect.

One could always go back use the default ATC?

have you tried uninstalling fs2024 + deleting %APPDATA%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (steam) + a complete reinstall ?

Truest statement I’ve read. However, over the past few days, I’ve definitely noticed some major improvements to SI and has been very fun to use.

The no traffic liveries found error:   Just a suggestion,  Check if your pathing in the sim is pointing at your desired community folder.  I believe in my case one of the SU2 beta updates switched it back to their default location.  I got that error until I pointed the sim back to my custom location for my community folder, all good after that.

I’m on 2020. But no way I’m doing a full reinstall for a 3rd party app. I’ll just stick with SI. Appreciate the suggestion though.

Where would I find/change that in MSFS?

EDIT: found it in usercfg.opt file. It was correct. Thanks for your help tho

I don’t recall much (if any) complaints for P3D and FSX. It wasn’t complex.. no SIDs/STARS.. but we had traffic that moved on the ground properly, ten different voices, a program to customize AI phrases, aircraft that flared properly, ATC that kept the pilot on course and not into mountains, and even a 3rd party helicopter AI program that worked really well.  We have really taken a step backwards when it comes to AI and ATC.

What BATC needs is a little bit of customization similar to what FSHUD has.

Agreed! We need to be able to set nodes that overide the scenery so that we can crowd source the proper procedures

Did you post this on their Discord bug list, or just come here to complain?

Checked every support thread in the Discord and nope, no post, so this goes unreported to BATC.

See if FSLTL's base library is detected by reviewing your user content inside the sim...this may give you an idea.

another suggestion would be to 1- try to regenerate the layout.json files in your AI models(traffic) folder, and if that doesn't make it show traffic, 2-  remove any AI Traffic folders from your .\community folder and reinstall FSLTL's traffic using the flybywire installer. 3rd option would be to simply remove the AI Traffic folder from %appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 folder (in simobjects).

use  Void's Everything (version 1.5a) to search for any other folders related to the aforementioned traffic folder.

Good luck.

I use BATC with every flight and have done since its release. I fly every day, sometimes twice, and I have never had any problems with the AI traffic program apart from an odd stutter, which has slowly improved with every update. I'm running the experimental version, which is updated on a regular basis. Did you know that there are three separate versions of BATC you can run? The Vulcan version, DX11 version and the OpenGL version, use whichever gives you the best performance.

Didn't know that, thanks. What version gives you the best performance?

Found this: Very Slow Response (if any) from Beyond ATC in VR - Discussion Hub / Home Cockpit Builders - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums

"Vulkan is the default and preferred version unless it causes problems starting BATC or instability.

To force the OpenGL or DirectX version, start BATC using the bat file for that version from your install directory.

For OpenGL run : BeyondATC_ForceOpenGL.bat
For DirectX 11 run : BeyondATC_ForceDirectX11.bat"

Are you running BATC in administration mode?

System 1: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @ 4.2GHz, 2x16GB DDR4 2600MHz CL18 RAM, EVGA RTX 3090 FTW, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 512GB, Seagate 2TB HDD, Windows 11 Pro 64bit, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog.

System 2: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D @ 5.7GHz, 2 x 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 RAM, ASUS ROG ASTRAL RTX5090 OC, 2 x 4TB Lexar NM790 M.2 PCIe 4.0, Crucial T705 2TB Gen5 M.2, Samsung 840 Pro SSD 1TB, Moza AB9 with Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Flight Stick, Winwing Orion Rudder Pedals, Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Throttle Quadrant.

For me it's a no go right now BATC when for instance at LPPT I'm told to backtrack on runway 20 instead of being given the correct taxiways... It's not isolated because I experienced it at least at another airport.

FSHUD appears to be frozen 😕

I've tried to go default ATC and Traffic but it's really bad...

I have to give SI a try.
