This is not a good thing for UI design.

Get used to the look of it, not get used to using it. I've long forgotten what the 2020 UI looked like. I couldn't draw a picture of it if I tried.

And you should go and touch some grass (and spare us your daily negative, useless rant in the forum) Why do you play the game at all?

UI is one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time … seems to be geared around the XBOX crowd and the XBOX controller. 1.  On the controller screen the button value (i.e. 1, 2, 3, etc) isn’t integra

He doesn't. Like a lot of it's critics here, he doesn't actually have a copy of 2024. Bizarre...but true.

What’s with the “can’t deal with negativity” stuff … hurt “feelings” or something?  I don’t get that process of hide head in the sand because I don’t want to hear about it?  It’s essential to get user feedback, it improves the product and hopefully sales.

You miss the point friend.  G dude ain’t a user.  He doesn’t own the product.  So if you took his feedback and incorporated it into your next build you might be as successful as g dude is here gaining converts to his Quixote Mission of Shame for MS 2024

1.  On the controller screen the button value (i.e. 1, 2, 3, etc) isn’t integrated into the input box, it overlays it resulting in an ugly box covering the text behind it.

No, that number is actually the number of conflicts, i.e. other functions assigned to the same key, button, axis etc.

While I love the sim, I don't like the UI either.  They had the right idea allowing aircraft specific controls.  But the implementation is strange and unclear.  KISS policy would have served them well here.  I can deal with it as I use spad.next to completely handle all controls.  Unfortunately I still need to use the sim menu's for the camera.  But that's ok I guess.  Aircraft/Livery selection also isn't great at all.  All this I can accept considering the overall satisfaction the sim brings me.

I agree, the GUI needs improvement, more so in the Market place, it is a mess compared to what 2020 looked like, GUI is my only complaint with 20204. Having said that, the same was said about 2020 and it eventually got where it is now. I need to be patient, I'm sure 2024 GUI will improve considerably over time.

The aircraft selection area is one giant mess on its own, they needed to take a look at racing Sims to see how they select cars & liveries in the UI to make it more fluid and quick. Although admittedly some of those are naff as well 😆

I like the idea of having one version of the gui as is—maybe that is more familiar for Xbox users. But the drop down menu would be a million times better for me. It seems very cumbersome and non intuitive currently to me. An option for drop down would seem probably not too difficult to add in?

The fact that this video had to be created, shows what a horror story setting controls up in 2024 is, and then you are faced with possibly getting all your settings wiped out "accidentally"..🤔

When I read many reviews of a restaurant where reviewers say food and service was terrible, I don't go there for dinner to see for myself. 😉

It is completely fair to go by others' reviews. But using your example, if you then go out of your way to keep talking and posting about said restaurant negatively, isn't that a bit weird? That's what @DD_Arthur is talking about.. i.e. it's almost like those who keep dumping on 2024 while not ever having used it have an agenda, and/or a weird insecurity.

I wish the UI was the worst problem in my life. Alas, real life beckons and I must pay the mortgage, etc...

The UI is dead simple if you spend a little time learning it.

It all depends on your mind set, unlike you, most of us appreciate people taking the time to show others the how-to. Same goes for 2020, there are many youtubers showing exactly the same thing, so what is your point? If you are so happy with 2020 then why you even bother to read 2024 posts, just stay away if you are not positively contributing.

I DO use MSFS 2024 a lot. My sim time right now is evenly split between 2020 and 2024, and I have been using 2024 since its release. It has been improving overall. But I believe the UI is not user friendly at all, especially in regard to controller settings. And, it has gotten worse with SU2. It takes way too long to switch controller profiles; it is confusing even after six months, and it is simply cumbersome. I also agree that the airplane and livery selection system is not as user friendly either.

I hope that Asobo will try and make it better, but I am not too confident that they will. We'll see.

I have spent 6 months trying to learn it, and it is not dead simple for some people.

My point is that it is ridiculously complicated and poorly designed, but I guess you missed that.
