For those getting CTD's, have you deleted the content of the Cache, Scenery Index and Streamed Packages folder? Its possible there are older files in there that are conflicting with the newer files.

  • On Avsim the world is upside down: You enjoy the sim, you get called all sorts of names.  You wallow in misery, you're a hero. 😄

  • You are being overdramatic for a beta test Stuff like this is expected, that's why they do these tests. Had this gone live to everyone I'd understand, but this is an optional beta. It's

  • Seems like anytime anything connects via Simconnect, the simulator crashes. Love your work, Asobo!

I could not load into until I narrowed down a few 2020 add-ons that caused problems. One was a livery and another was an airport from Flightsim.to. I just had to keep testing to isolate the problems. Now the sim is stable.

For msfs 2020, there was a program that did all this with one-click but it doesn't work for msfs2024. Does anyone know if there is something to do this in msfs 2024 on a one-click basis?

Yep, but I was able to make a full LEMD - LPPT in the default BBJ...

Can't say it felt extraordinary, but for a default it's not that bad, and at least I have something to fly while ASOBO fixes the CTD-ness of SU3 1.5.10.0

At least this sim simulates CTDs like no other these days 🤣

This one taught me to never enter a beta again. How could they even release such an unstable version.

I’m waiting for SU4, if there’s no improvements I’m going to start question their current passion for this sim. They were really onto it with 2020.

I opted out of the beta on Steam and it downloaded a patch (the latest stable build.) Everything is fine now. For those who are affected by this, I recommend you do the same.

2024 has been a very weird release. Weirdness started even before it came out - no previews apart from a very cut down alpha (which ran really well actually), no marketing hype and even since it's launched the dev team have been very quiet relative to their 2020 engagement. Due to bugs? Maybe - but a lot of the sim feels like a regression to an older version of 2020.

I wonder if all is well at Asobo - it cannot be fun being an MSFS developer right now given all the issues.

I cannot even load it.

QA most likely tests with a completely clean installs, no addons, no third party programs.

Difference between alpha and beta testing.

With different configurations of third party addons, regressions are expected. My MSFS2024 is just plain vanilla except some helicopter addons and external apps like LS and AutoFPS. Every beta feels the same. Locked at 54 FPS, I hardly had anything below 52 FPS. But my settings are quite humble. Water, Buildings, Clouds, are High, the rest is mostly high to medium.

Evem when running it on my laptop (3050 card) instead of PC, 2024 with all its ups and downs has been better in performance than 2020. Except SU 16 Beta, this beta seems smoothens everything and it's getting closer to 2024 smoothness (panning and erratic manoeuvres)

The reason this is happening is because they refuse to test in a real world environment before the release to public. They should know they third party add ons and community content will be present in the daily use of the average beta tester. They insist in having two versions. They should probably have a canary version that goes to devs before it goes out to the beta channel. Because if this being caused but third party content it could have been caught prior to public beta release.

All though everything in this sim since launch has felt like an alpha test release to the public.

Hate to say it. But X-Plane has won the customer satisfaction award for me at least.
