Concorde was not build and engineered in the U.S. and as such was not subject to FAA rules.

  • Just finished my first flight, and it was definitely worth the wait! This aircraft is awesome! The sounds, visuals, and the classic avionics all make for a great simulation. All for a totally unbeatab

Is it true that the aircraft was capable of going over Mach 1 but the FAA only allowed it to be rated for .92?

Doubtful.  When you reach the plane's "critical mach number", airflow over parts of the aircraft have reached the speed of sound, and you start to experience shock drag.  Critical mach occurs at a true airspeed below where the aircraft's true airspeed actually exceeds mach 1.0 through the atmosphere.  Beyond the critical mach number into the transonic region, drag and fuel consumption increase dramatically, making it a very uneconomical flight regime, sonic booms notwithstanding.

So more than likely, M 0.92 is the speed that keeps you just below where shock drag starts to eat your lunch.

Very enjoyable piloting the FFX C750 so far!

The engine and other sounds an aural feast thanks to Boris, the Citation X is perfection audio-wise, the FFX E145 will be amazing then!

Doing a flight from KSEA to CYYJ right now.

I can assure you the second it passed into US airspace it did! The post I was quoting didn't say the rules were FAA from memory also.

Same engines as the 717, on a much smaller airplane.

The 717 uses Rolls Royce BR-715 engines which are in the same family as those used on the Gulfstream G550 and 650. The Citation X uses Rolls Royce AE3007 engines which also power the Embraer EMB135 and EMB145 regional jets, (which are indeed much larger airplanes).

I purchased this in 2020 market place, do I have to purchase it again for 2024?

I cannot see it in my library in 2024 and I thought it would be carried over?

Here are instructions from the FlightFX Discord.  At the bottom is a link for a form to submit to get entitlement for 2024.  Also many, myself included, have been successful by uninstalling the 2020 version, closing 2020, and then starting 2024 where the 2020 version will appear in 2024 marketplace.  It may take a couple of cycles of uninstalling/reinstalling/uninstalling the 2020 plane but 9 times out of 10 it works.  Only problem is the plane that you will install in 2024 will be unverified 2020 version. It will fly just fine in 2024 but it’s not the 2024 version of the X.  To make sure you get the 2024 plane follow the instructions in the FAQ by fillng out the lnked form which I did (after a short wait it will show up as an “upgrade” in marketplace) and now I have the 2024 version installed in 2024. Good luck and blue skies,

-B

Since this in one of my favorite aircraft ever (I remember getting to sit in the cockpit of one around 1997 when I was instructing) I had to get it.  I have only had time to get my views set up and get the APU/Avionics going but I already love it thanks to the immersive sound environment and I haven't even started the engines.  You had me at APU startup...😄

Second question regarding this aircraft.

Is there a way to scroll through the flightplan and see the advancement of the plan on the MFD? Like you have plan mode in the airbus/Boeing or PPOS in the CJ4?

The user manual doesn't describe a way, neither do the youtube tutorials I've seen.

Thanks

I know many have said this previously on this thread, but it bears repeating, I think from a cost / benefit standpoint, this is one of the best AC purchases I have ever made. I have certainly purchased more in depth and arguably better AC, but I have paid 3 times as much. Dollar per dollar, this is an exceptional product.

Agree with other satisfied users. I’ve only done preflight and a few circuits but flight model presents very well, rotation was fluid but believable. Sounds and graphics are excellent. Looking forward to flying some legs but this is an easy yes for the money imo. Hope they have a lot of success with it as perhaps they will then be able to add further enhancements and detail in the systems.

Yes. There are a bunch of buttons left of the PFD. You have to click on the "MFD MAP" button to switch to plan mode, and then you can cycle through the waypoints with the "SKP"-Button forward (backwards with "RCL").

Found a typo in the cockpit. It says "Anit-Coll " instead of "Anti-Coll" over the switch for the beacon.

Kind of funny.
