I haven't tried yet.  Just went with L - L is supposed to be the best image clarity/quality?  Or did I interpret that incorrectly?  RTX 4080 here.

L is designed to be optimal with setting Ultra Performance. For higher level settings (Performance, Balanced etc)  nVidia suggest using preset M

It's part of Nvidia's DLSS 4.5 they just released at CES. Two new presets (L, M) Both hit performance quite hard on 4xxx series and below compared to Preset K (DLSS 4). Preset M is meant to

I am in VR (Varjo Aero) and the new DLSS 4.5 with preset L nearly completely eliminates ghosting of the speed and altitude tape of an airliner PFD as compared to DLSS 4.0 with preset K. That's with NV

You're saying when digits change on the PFD there is no blur?  This is what I mean by ghosting.

I quickly tried DLAA with preset M in the fenix last night. Ghosting is much reduced but still not as good as TAA.

The MCDU seemed much 'snappier' as well, it seemed really laggy before with previous DLSS file

It will be interesting to see how the dynamic FG works in FS - it maybe useful with the constant change in CPU load

Doesnt Lossless Scaling already offer "dynamic" Framegen? It works pretty well and yes, I also think this will be a very nice feature for MSFS2024. For those having 2x Framegen as max. it might however be useful only in very, very few cases...

Lossless Scaling offered dynamic framegen for a while now and I've been using it on my 3070 without a problem. I am very happy with it.

I can see that since on the first page of this thread, you can see in the latency table that, for example, latency for a 3070 at presets J&K is 0.93 ms whereas it exponentially jumps to 1.74 ms for M and 2.43 for L (all figures at 1080p). I am going to stick with K for now and see how that goes with my humble medium-range system. Will report back.

So, using the swapper I installed the latest versions. Where can I set FG 2x or 3X ?  (with RTX5060-16GB)

Did read the latency table too yesterday but forgot about it already (age really starts to kick in), then came across the video...🙃

that should be possible in the MSFS graphics menu under framegen.

You can do it that way or you can do it in the settings section of dlss swapper.  That will change the registry entry without going through the registry to find the right key.

I used the registry hack to double check because:

very nice.

Sorry Turbomax, I was talking about the on screen display rather than the preset itself.  I'm prety sure that the Nvidia App would probably override the preset setting.

He’s saying you don’t need to edit the registry yourself (if that’s what you did). DLSS Swapper does it for you - check the settings. Much easier to turn the on screen display on and off that way, rather than editing the registry each time.

9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

I found that quite important to know: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/580689/dlss-45-super-resolution-faq/

'Since RTX 20 and 30 Series don't support FP8, these cards will see a larger performance impact compared to newer hardware and those users may prefer remaining on the existing Model K (DLSS 4.0) preset for higher FPS.'

and 'While Model M and L are supported across DLSS Super Resolution Quality, Balanced modes, and DLAA mode, users will see the best quality vs. performance benefits in Performance and Ultra Performance modes'

'It is better to be silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.'

as I understand it you don't need DLSS swapper now - and you don't need the reg hack to see which mode you are using - Nvidia app does both for you.

I have 2 separate .REG files, 1 click for ON or OFF. couldn't be any easier. just like the youtube I posted earlier.
