December 10, 201312 yr Sadly, it is true, the PMDG T7 is boring to fly. But most heavies are, the joy is in the ground ops, role playing like with FSCaptain, and take offs and landings.
December 10, 201312 yr No doubt Chris, the amount of work I do preparing for the 777 flights pretty much makes up for the monotony of flying her. She's like a fine luxury car with all the bells and whistles, and getting the chance to sit in the left seat on these modern jumbos is something that cockpit crews work hard to attain the privilege. But yeah, going from the NGX to this I can see the stark contrast between the two and I kind of miss the excitement, the connection I felt to the NG. Regarding the pre-ops, It's only going to get better with FS2crew, and I believe Bryan from FS2crew is working on a pushback product to sync FS2crew with PMDG ground ops. So many pushback options, it makes my head spin trying to keep track of it all. I have GSX, AES, the PMDG push back, the future FS2crew built in pushback, the future separate FS2crew pushback module, ai yi yi! Like you said, part of the fun is mastering the choreography of all the preflight preparation s like ground crew ops and pushback, it seems 90% of my work and effort is spent on the ground, and the remaining 10% is really just sitting back and putting her on autopilot. Want to update the winds on the FMC legs page, just push a button. How easy is that, I can't believe all the tedious data entry I had to put up with for all previous addons. I normally get flustered flying without FS2crew, but this bird is surprisingly easy to manage, no doubt due to all the hand holding and simplification of an otherwise complex system. The way I see it, PMDG worked hard to hide all those complexities by faithfully recreating the vast automation of the 777, which can be either awe inspiring or off putting, depending on your perspective and piloting style. I'm sure the old school folks who grew up on steam gauges and mental calculations feel strange flying her, I think I'm somewhere in between bored and grateful, because flying a two person cockpit by myself, no matter how complex or simple, can be a frustrating task and that automation does in fact serve a meaningful purpose. December 10, 201312 yr I will buy the LD 757 as well, great aircraft, I have over 100 hours in the jump seat so I am a little attached to the old bird... John Nelson Retired UPS
December 10, 201312 yr the fun with the 767 is the combination of old and new technology in the cockpit i think. So, a nice 757 would be swell. Is there any update on release date by the way ? just to keep the conversation going:) Antoine v Heck --- Ryzen 5800X3D, 32Gb DDR4 RAM@1600 Mhz, RTX3090 (24GB VRAM). 2TB SSD - VR with Quest 2 via link cable

December 10, 201312 yr It was being developed for FSX FSX has been and gone, so I doubt it will be released. Where did you get that piece of info? Granted; with P3D V2 released, some FSX flyers probably will move over to P3D, but since it's very nearby FSX, I don't see that as a reason why FSX addons would no longer be released. As long as companies like PMDG and Aerosoft continu to support FSX, I don't believe a company like LDS would just throw all their hard work in the garbage bin.... The main question I guess is if LDS will ever gets the 757 ready for a release. I for one hope they will.... Regards, Frank van der Werff
December 11, 201312 yr I would only buy if it can be used with P3dv2 with no additional cost/license purchase. That seems quite unlikely. I'm not even sure LDS is aware of P3d's existence. David Zambrano, CFII, CPL, IGI I know there's a lot of money in aviation because I put it there.
December 13, 201312 yr I relieve my 777 boredom by: Flying it on big Vatsim flyins with Oceanic procedural control or at least lots of ATC for as much/all of the route. These are rare, but a real treat. Using PFPX and then tracking the fuel burn as it develops vs planned fuel burn and then adding stats back to PFPX after the flight. Drawing pretty pictures and extra waypoints on the FMC for ETOPS doing live broadcasts on youtube of my flight Trent Hopkinson, 2015 Crewmember of www.mangrove.com.au WorldFlight sim Youtube channel www.youtube.com/user/musicalaviator

December 13, 201312 yr Anyone remember this? Yes, this is the only image that was ever released of the 757 project.... FIVE years ago. Wallpaper? David Zambrano, CFII, CPL, IGI I know there's a lot of money in aviation because I put it there.
December 13, 201312 yr You know, this thread is over 3 years old now, and we're no closer to a release, or an updated status for that matter, then we were then. I think it's time to put this thread out of it's misery, and lock it, as same things just keep getting said over and over again! AVSIM has locked similar stale threads in the past. If new information should by some miracle surface, it can be put in a new thread! Just my opinion to the current state. Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
