Would also like to know if they’ve snuck in a fix for the LOD issue too.

Wouldn't that be nice .... if it happened

I'm seeing more AI and hearing more ATC activity. Anyone else?

Any changes in tree LOD?

Have not climbed that high yet, but I like what I'm seeing with live weather active. No pop ups with your mod.

Well...

It has downloaded the update, but...

...it is 1.14.5.0 again!

?

It is a little confusing. When Steam opened the sim, MFS called a short update labelled 1.14.5.0.  I closed the sim and reopened it and the sim updater then called another update  labelled 1.14.6.0.  A two-step process.  Why make it simple when you can make it complicated 😄.

Simming since 1981 -  [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

So far so good on my PC.  Was getting 15-25 around my home area, now back up to 30+.  None of those massive FPS drops all the time.

I already turned the FPS counter back off so I can get back to enjoying flying.

So I updated using the Store, went fine.
Ran the sim, shows as version 1.14.6.0, got the set your experience screen and an update showing which says 126.29MB. Clicked to update.
That was almost 30 minutes ago as its still downloading what seems like hundreds of fs-base-0.1.XXX.fspatch files

The XXX numbers keep going up so it doesn't look like it is stuck, but it doesn't seem like anyone else is getting this. As I say its been going for half an hour now and showing no sign of ending.
Is this the navdata update, and if so any idea how big it is, because clearly I'm downloading way more than 126.29MB?

Yup uninstalled the store installer reinstalled and got the 126mb update then it went funky by saying please wait and doing nothing. Had to pause it and restart to resolve. Worth the update as its smoother than when it was new.

Just did a test. No change in tree LOD. No fix there.

Gaming Laptop:
MSI GS75 Stealth 5.6GHz Intel Core i9 - 10th gen 16 core CPU  -  32 GB DDR4 SDRAM  - 1TB SSD - RTX 2080 Super - 1920x1080 - 3 fans and cooling pipes.

Do you need to uninstall any mods in the community folder before updating?

I didn't touch that folder (although I only have FBW and WT in there)

Update installed, flew from EGGD down to Cheddar up and around Bristol then back to Bristol.  All seemed smoother and framerate drops disappeared.  A good +20 FPS approaching and taking off from EGGD than I had been having after WU3 and SU3.  Looking good so far, but about to fly London City to Heathrow to see how it seems in a more system demanding area.

350fps , little to no stuttering. Something wrong. Please fix!

No seriously, its much improved.   Thanks for tracking this performance bug down Asobo.  Much appreciated.

From what I have been reading on post, it seems  that the Windows store pre downloaded the large 1.2 GIG file, and that was installed for some when they started MSFS. Then that just left the 126 MB download when you started MSFS. I guess what you are seeing is the 1.2 GB file downloading.
