MSFS 2024?  Sounds kinda like "MSFS Acceleration" would answer the mail a lot better...

Flight was kind of DOA to begin with. This simulator is far too popular on so many different levels. If MS/Asobo decided to stop supporting this current sim and completely branch off to another it would be absurd. More likely it would be a DLC-type of addon but the core development would be applied to this current simulator. Kind of like FSX's dlc the acceleration patch. That DLC didn't make everyone change everything but if you wanted the extras then you got it.

So, if one doesn’t want to buy 2024 (assuming it’s a paid upgrade), then, we wonder if MSFS will still get core updates or not.
So many questions, so little answers. Why am I not surprised?

It should be mentioned:  there is no information attached to this trailer.  we know nothing.  worry, hope and speculation are all fun, but essentially at this point we know squat about this thing.  go fly, nothing has changed.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm really looking forward to going through the entire PMDG line of 37s all over again.....bahaha.  So many funnies we could make here. 😁

Yes,very funny Jeff. I'm ready for : "Shutup and take my money"  "Take my money" "I don't care what the cost is, it's worthy." "I will pay anything for PMDG."

So PMDG said: "Well, boys..we've been doing business wrong all this time. Let's charge for every version, every expansion and every new SIM update."
Now, even those ^ deep-mouths are complaining, But, too late. PMDG will continue this trend for as long as Pandarozo and his boys remains on Planet Earth.

Still no reaction from

Waiting for A2A to announce a further 2 year wait for their Comanche to make compatible with FS2024 (just kidding).

LOL. You are kidding, but there is a lot of truth on what you are saying. The very reason why I bought MS2020 was because I was eagerly waiting for A2A to jump aboard. Then nothing...

I lost interest for the sim with time. Now A2A will take two years to adapt to the new MS2024, then two more years to adapt to the changes being made to the MS2024, then Microsoft announces MS2028, then A2A has to go after it... Then they will release the Comanche to P3Dv5.

Zero excitement from me, clearly they are going to use the same engine with all the pros and cons, give some sort of carrer mode with missions and everything that pleases the new generation of arcade simmers and lest go ask the price of a new simulator...dune dlc? offensive initials not allowed is that? If this is the path time to start to think in going back to X-plane.

People can't expect Microsoft to keep funding MSFS based off of what I expect are relatively small revenues from the Marketplace (especially since I expect a massive majority of people actually buy add ons from outside of it which MS sees zero revenue from)

This is the price to pay for continued upgrades, world updates, and support. Many of you complaining are willing to pay 100 dollars for a new plane for the game but somehow another 60 dollars for an expansion is too much 😕

There is no meaningful profit to be had from this segment  - the enthusiast - hence you see xbox plastered all over it. Accept this and perhaps look to supporting the other platform, otherwise this is the future of 'flight sim'

Looks very arcadish, and probably very easy to play with an Xbox controller, not good for me.

Wow, leave a comment on the first page and return a few hours later to see 19 pages! This is like the excitement of when we saw the first MSFS2020 trailer with the new scenery technology! This is marketing at its best. I’m sure the upper management at Microsoft are saying we hit this one out of the park!

Some of the animated effects in the trailer looked spectacular. It’s the next generation of MSFS2020 that takes the sim core to a new level of realism. In due time, everyone will associate the branding of MSFS2024 as the evolution of MSFS2020.

I guarantee those are scripted missions.  Career mode is likely just tied to missions and similar flying logbook hours.  It'll probably open the door for more 3rd party missions that tie into a "career" advancement.  It's all about catering to the XBox crowd.  We see very little traction in the core sim improvement department.   Us study-level sim users have been asking for improvements to ATC, AI, and weather since the sim launched.  It's just not a priority to them.

Yep, I agree with you. They are not going to be free missions, but heavily scripted ones, similar we had in FSX. Go there, do that, get back. And, when you are finished, they will release a new mission DLC for only $ 19.99. The sim will become more arcade with time. The study level companies can use and will use the platform to appeal to its fan base, but serious simming is not and will never be the priority to Microsoft and company.

I admire hardcore simmer who can just look few second at promo video and already see scripted mission and arcades simulation LOL
