I'm hopeful there is more to the update than we see in this video.  But I appreciate any update nonetheless.

That CRJ is 3 yrs old and they’re just getting around to fixing it?    It was the first payware product I purchased for 2020 and I will NEVER purchase an airplane from Aerosoft ever again.

  • Eh. Kinda burned out on Aerosoft's approach to addon support. They release something, full of bugs and leave it like that for months or years, then you realize said update is also full of problems, it

  • These comments blow me away as I have used the plane for years w/ no problems once I understood how it's FMC and navigation work, and albeit quirky in spots it's not that hard to figure out.   100's o

I wonder if they've fixed RNAV or RNP approach crashes (forget which one or maybe it was both).  People were using RNAV/RNP type approaches, I think the ones with arcs in them, and it was crashing the aircraft systems. Their literal answer was "the real aircraft can't fly those and the FMS doesn't even have them loaded but MSFS will show them, don't use them".  If you didn't know that though you'd just be very confused on why the systems froze up.  I really can't understand why they couldn't put some sort of filter in the block those from being shown in the FMS or at the very least create something to better handle it so the systems don't just lock up.  Whether that's making it unrealistic and putting code in to tell the aircraft how to fly them and just pretend it's updated functionality the real AC never got or something else I don't know but to just say "don't use them" and expect that people will have seen that info or even understand the issue was dumb.  I'm sure there were plenty of people who bought it, tried to fly one of those approaches and kept having issues, and just gave up or even tried to refund it for being a "buggy piece of junk" etc.

From the Aerosoft Discord channel:

"Hello @Flight Aircraft ,

finally we have some great news for you: One of the first Airliner Add-Ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator, the Aerosoft CRJ, is getting a major overhaul and a great update with new features, many changes and some exciting news for you in version 2 of the very popular regional jet.

Today we would like to announce the release date, which flight simulator it will be for and how you can get it in terms of price for new customers and upgrade for existing Aerosoft CRJ version 1 owners.

First things first. We will release the Aerosoft CRJ v2 on the 25th of March 2025.

It will be available as version 2 and will be compatible with MSFS2020 and MSFS2024!

Featuring a completely redesigned cabin, revised flight model, full implementation of Navigraph charts and much more, v2 expands on the original aircraft with new features, bug fixes and enhanced customisation. A full changelog will be provided with the release.

In addition, the CRJ will finally be available on the Xbox for both simulators. This means full compatibility in both simulators on all platforms.

The CRJ v2 will be available as a complete bundle including the following aircraft variants:

CRJ 550
CRJ 700
CRJ 900
CRJ 1000

The price for the complete bundle will be 49,99€ (incl. VAT).

If you already own the CRJ v1, no matter which version, you will get this upgrade including all aircraft variants for free!

I will leave you with this great news and also attach a great trailer and some screenshots of the interior. We are very excited about this update/release and many streamers, YouTubers and other influencers will be getting their hands on it over the weekend to give you all the details starting next week."

For the price of free I’ll give it a whirl, but it has tough competition in my regional jet hangar against the Just Flight F-28 and Avro RJ.

I'm looking forward to the update very much.  I'm enjoying flying the CRJ's as I mentioned in a previous post.  Last night, I flew a short Delta Connection flight and the workload after take-off was manic!  However, I managed to complete the flight to Cedar City, UT and it was a lot of fun.

49.99€ tax included for a CRJ 550/700/900/1000 bundle compatible with msfs & msfs24 and even more completely free if you own the 1.00 version, even if you only had the base package (550/700), sorry but I say Thanks you Aerosoft!

Incredible that some people still complain, seems some of you are never happy.

Can't wait!

I've always wanted to try the Aerosoft CRJ, but all the bad reviews and bug reports have always put me off. I hope this update will finally make the aircraft worth getting.

Honnestly, maybe I'm not too picky but 1.00 was already decent. Of course it was not PMDG & Fenix quality but it was working well for me, never had the bugs some people quote. It is a fun aircraft to fly, something different compared to the automated 737 & A320.

I would love to have a modern regional airliner (obviously with higher end systems). I've been patiently waiting for the Majestic Q400, but, that may still be a long time coming (if ever for MSFS 2020).

I had the Aerosoft CRJ series back in P3D...if I recall, it almost took a full year of development/bug fixes to get that version to the point of even being "flyable" in P3D. Even then, it still had numerous quirks, as I recall.

I'm still on the fence about getting the 700/900 series based on that past experience. Waiting to see the reviews after next week's release.

Hope Boris will update his soundpack for the new version of the CRJ.

I think it got a lot of extra scrutiny being the first even remotely complex airliner released for MSFS.

v1 wasn't an exact system replica of the real world CRJ, but for me it was just fine.  Maybe v2 is a little closer, for me I will definitely check it out as you can't beat the free upgrade offer.

It's not that it's a terrible plane, but it shares many of the same underlying code (even the EFB) with the ATR, and you have a similar unsatisfied feeling after flying it. Nothing really works right - it's a lot of cajoling the aircraft to do what you want or knowing that the FMC/LNAV don't like x,y,z so you know what to avoid.

As a result it's just not very fun to fly... I hope this fixes it. Maybe Hans has finally figured out the LNAV module and we'll see an update for the ATR too? I wouldn't count on it.

I am not overwhelmed, yet. A cabin that I don’t have any personal interest of.

Can’t help thinking of what will break that is present working with the CRJ.

I also almost have zero faith concerning the developer, and absence of reports from beta testing makes me stay away from this update a while.

I further more recall I almost payed the double price for the CRJ series.
