Good to hear an IRL 777 pilot's opinion here

I can’t claim to be an actual 777 pilot, however I’m currently on the 787 which shares a common type rating so it’s very similar indeed. Where the 777 is different to the 787  its similar to my previous aircraft the 747, so everything is very familiar.

interesting that blackbox which you quoted above also mentions the rotation, yes it feels very authentic on rotation and initial climb out.

What an enjoyable experience in 2024. Smooth as butter, everything worked the first load. It's a pretty standard PMDG plane experience, but they did a good job getting it working in 2024. Loaded in, d

Just did my first flight. Smooth, without any hiccups. The performance is incredible, even better than some default aircraft. Nothing to complain about at the moment. Regarding someone's comments

And dismissing that argument as absolutely ridiculous and I'm pretty certain you know it is too.

It’s hard to argue with such logical and persuasive counterpoints as “silly” and “absolutely ridiculous.”  You win!

Wondering what your opinion of the sounds is with the 300 ER or the 200?

I’ve not really sat and analysed the sounds, but nothing has jumped out at me so far as sounding off.

I've not flown the 777 in the real world ( yet) so wouldn’t be able to make an authoritative judgement.

I’m only ever inside the cockpit in VR so there isn’t a great deal of engine noise in real jet cockpits anyway. I’ve not listened to the engines from the outside view.

All the other dings and bongs on the flight deck sound good to me on the new -200. These will be identical to the 787 and 747 so I can speak with experience on those ones.

Another delightful flight! In my humble unprofessional opinion 777-200 is one of the best PMDG aircraft I ever own. Now I really want imax 737 max to complete my all Boeing cravings LOL

I bought that also back then but never downloaded it. Is it still online somewhere?

It's pointless to engage with such an idiotic (and likely bad faith) argument - it's on the order of aliens made PMDG do it.

Unfortunately you cannot download it anymore, as the site has been taken down... I managed to download it and have it locally - along with the A320 course and the 2 Airport2Sim courses.

I can share it with you, if you PM me.

I suggest that you temporarily defer the evaluation of sounds for both the B777-200ER and 300ER.  The engine sounds will be replaced with "entirely new recordings over the coming two months".  This was announced in the post of the B777-200ER release.

Does anyone know how to deploy the thrust reversers after landing?

Twice now I've landed and not been able to get the reversers deployed. Luckily the brakes are quite good and the runways been quite long so it hasn't caused an issue!

I've got the Thrustmaster TCA stick (and quadrant but I've disabled it as the detents don't really work for Boeings). I've binded a key to the Hold Reverse Thrust action but it doesn't seem to work.

Also, does the AT disengage itself on landing after it's idled the thrust or do you have to do that manually?

I've got so used to Airbus systems and logic that there's a few Boeing-isms that are catching me out!

- "I have to say PMDG really nailed it, single engine taxi feels fantastic in the aircraft, they've really done an excellent job on that"
- "the plane really feels great on single engine taxi, it barely tries to move to any side which is absolutely correct, and you can see it even maintains its speed, exactly how it should be"
- "I really really am enjoying this, so happy to finally have an awesome longhaul aircraft in study level quality for MSFS 2024"

When you hold the key you assigned to "Hold Throttle Reverse Thrust", make sure you pull throtlle all the way off before holding that key down, . otherwise it won't engage. Then increase your throttle for desired level of reverse and continue to hold the key down as long as you want the reverse thrust. When you release the key, it will go back to normal thrust. I use the trigger key on my joystick to engage this function, makes it easy to grab when landing.

I use Decrease Throttle bound to a joystick button with input repetition ticked.
Much like FSX was with the F2 key.

Love the 772! Very happy with it. But what I can’t figure out are why my flap sounds different than all the influencers that posted videos of them leading up to release. (My engines do too but I assume that’s because they are still working on them?)
