Su 4 Beta

Featured Replies

Now I tried EDDF rwy 07C for a little round trip with the Inibuild A 320. So I had terminal 1 and the Frankfurt skyline in full sight while approaching. To my surprise I had no stutters at all and constant 60 fps (with 2x FG). I do not understand why I couldn't find a free gate with parked aircraft at "low", though. 🙂

I can't even load into this new beta for some reason.  I select the aircraft and then the airport.  but the spinning wheel on the right keeps freezing.

What about the sepia mask at night ?

Unfortunately not addressed as yet. Departure at night looks great but once at the higher cruising altitudes the very bright masks can still be observed.

I think the brightness of the city night lighting  presentation at the low altitudes can be toned down by perhaps 5-10%max (To me it can even remain as it is)  but that glowing bright overall area effect observable at cruise needs substantial work. Its as if the ground itself is lit up.

Whenever I join a SU beta I start by a clean & fresh install and go with defaults **only**

I test the default buses, the default weather, the default ATC and AI Traffic, and after being familiar with it, I try, in the following order:

1) the INIBUILDS 350 with full textures;

2) BATC with FSLTL @ 1024

3) flightsim.to gliders

4) Taogs and Cowan helis

No. They never performed bad.

They always perform extremely badly, especially the A350. I can barely fly this thing with all the stutters and poor performance. The Neos and the A330 are okay-ish but not good.

That’s A LOT of bug fixes.  I get concerned when they don’t elaborate on “optimized” … can be good or can be bad … like reducing object geometry and texture quality to improve performance?

What I find odd is all the Crashes listed that I’ve never experienced?  SU2 and SU3 have been pretty solid with the only crash I had at KLAX where the cause in my case were static features I could disable from the scenery.

Didn’t see much on adding more functionality to the SDK?  I hope Asobo get around to that … 1000+ add-on partners will get more done than the relatively small Asobo team … just give them the SDK and support.

The topic were the default IniBuild Aircraft, not the payware ones. The default ones perform very well.

Which features that you feel are important are presently missing from the SDK at this time?

Does anyone know what these new entries in the UserCFG.opt are?

1.  AI traffic logic (path following and more control over what they do and their current state, i.e. pushback, taxi, engine start, run up, taxi, holding, take-off roll start, take-off roll commit, collision avoidance, etc.)

2.  ATC needs to be more “aware” and route to actual procedures, ability to implement holding patterns, send to alternates, respond to events (bingo fuel), adjust to weather or even rwy or airport closer.

3.  Ground services logic and path following again with states and can be controlled (aka stop driving thru other objects/vehicles/aircraft).

Have the SDK support these with more states and position info and detection logic that a developer can use to actually implement the logic.  It’s a complex process, but if the SDK can provide the states and events/actions for developers to use, let the developers build it while Asobo focus on other aspects of the sim.

Took the Fenix to Edinburgh (Pyreegue) from Heathrow (Ini). FSLTL and pushback using GSX. All fine. Smooth as silk. To be honest I didn't notice any difference from SU3? Now just the weeks of waiting for the devs of incompatible planes to update their product.........
