Is SU4 really turning the corner for MSFS 2024?

Good to hear MSF24 is getting there.

  • I was very happy with MSFS 2024 from day one. Every Service Update so far has been a cherry on top. I'm expecting SU4 to be the same.

I've had both 2020 and 2024 since their release. Up to last week, I was using 2020 exclusively, with the occasional foray into 2024 to see how it was progressing. For a while, both graphics and perfor

Well, looks like SU4 will finally be the time to move to it. Not looking forward to transferring all my AAO stuff and resetting up controls.

Yeah, guess it's time for me to buy in.

For me, MSFS 2024 never "turned a corner" because, starting with day 2, that is, after the initial server hiccups were resolved, I had a great time with the sim, and never looked back.

What I have noticed, though, is that all the "glass half empty" seem to have gotten pretty much tired of spreading fake news and misinformation about MSFS 2024, Asobo and Microsoft. 😁

You don’t need to. Some adjustments might be needed, but you can just export/import AAO’s settings from 2020 to 2024.

As the aforementioned performance has improved that itself lends to a much better experience for me, Free Flight coupled with recent updates to the EFB/Flight Planning tool integration far improve upon 2020 and reason alone to stay with 2024 from now on, as described elsewhere after a recent flight when it works it - it works great, to the point that I've now uninstalled 2020.

I finally uninstalled MS2020 once SU4 came out, but after the launch debacle i just haven’t used MSFS as much the last 6 months. Maybe that will change moving forward but I’d rather just wait until things work. Case in point, I bought the Citation X and SU4 breaks it. I know the fix but I’d rather just wait until SU4 is final.

I can see that 2024 is coming along. Just released a year early.

Probably MSFS 2028, if we are going by 4 year cycles now.

Holy, People speaking from MSFS2028 where MSFS2024 is still not ready at this time, what a crazy world around some things, better MSFS2028 should be released 2030 or afterwards for a more user frendly stable RC !!

Just my 2 cents..

cheers 😉

One thing MSFS has in its favour is the custom EFBs in say, Fenix + PMDG aircraft. They're fantastic in comparison to the dated Avitab plugin most X-Plane addons use. Having an EFB with a nice UI makes the experience so much nicer and having a proper integration with Simbrief, weights + balances, METAR info etc is excellent.

Is it safe to try it out now and then use MSFS2020 SU16 as a backup?

It's safe to be sure. I bought it on Day 1 and uninstalled MSFS2020 the same day and never looked back. Come on in - it's safe!
