Who else fully moved over to MSFS2024 this week?

Featured Replies

so since PMDG has brought MS/Asobo thousands of additional 2024 sales, I take it Randazoo gave Jörg Neumann a free full walk around of his real DC6/B737/Gulfstream etc.

how much did he pay MS/Asobo to make sure FS2026 won't be compatible with the 2024 Boeings?🤣

I literally updated the TFDI app this morning and it gave me three possible installations.  2020.  2024.  Common files.  I picked 2 and 3 and now the plane shows up in 2024

56 weeks ago. SU4 was actually a backward step for me but Flight Sim has always been up and down, if you'll pardon the pun so I'm looking forward to the next up. I have no regrets about switching on hour 1 of day 1.

This is very true.  Interestingly, the also widely-acclaimed SU3 was a big step back for me. I lost fluidity and gained a few CTDs along the way. But as of SU4 it's doing well again on my system.

I didnt think I would completely abandon 2020 - but after SU4 I find it hard to want to fly that version.   2024 still isnt perfect - but performance for me is smoother - graphics are a bit better - and I have all the planes I want to fly.   And I do love how much faster it loads then 2020.   It does feel like I may have taken my last flight on 2020 - a year late but better then never.

I have had them both installed since day 1 of each and tried to go all 2024 initially but went back to 2020 after a month or so. I decided to go all in again with 2024 with the SU4 update and have finally started moving over and removing my 2020 addons. The sim itself won't be too far behind.

We’ll Dave…since we are both using PSXT extensively and you were critical of 2024, I guess it’s a good sign 🙂

Long time reader, first time poster here.

I used FSX for many years and had a lot of payware for it, but I switched to 2020 during the Steam July sale and have bought quite a few addons for 2020 as my system runs it very well. My system is an i9-9900K (overclocked to 5 Ghz) with 32 GB RAM and a 3080 Ti.

I'm hesitating to switch to 2024 because my internet connection top speed is only 60 mbps and that's the best I can get for a while. I've seen both good and bad comments about slower internet speed for the 2024 version so I don't know if that will be an issue for my system and 2024.

I hope to get a new system sometime in 2026, but the RAM prices have pushed that back probably until at least next summer or fall.

Many people have had success with 50 Mbps+. Best thing to do is try for yourself. You can pay $1 and get a trial from Gamepass, and then test it out.

why not try out for yourself, if you are brave enough to risk $ 1,- for a 14 days trialspacer.png

Still on 2020.🙃  Not looking forward to learning all the new keyboard commands and fighting with my controller setups.  Looks like ATC/AI aircraft isn't improved and because of this (which is a problem in 2020) I relegated myself to corporate jets and GA.  Really love that type of VIP flying now as the airliners in the real world are all but Greyhound buses these days, overpacked and full of the craziest people to ever come across.

Also I might need to buy another computer to fully enjoy the sim especially in VR.🫤
