Burning Blue Design Enhanced Global Vegetation

Featured Replies

Ok, so having read a few reviews and joined the Discord channel and seen the positive feedback, I bought it and against all my expectations, I will keep it at the expense of Bijan, sorry.

I like the variety of vegetation, the accurate colour and most importantly the much more realistic heights. From the parks and private gardens of London to the Sonoran desert (perhaps the cacti are too big and could do with a little more variety) to the forests of the Pacific North West - it all really does all look better than before.

For the price of a coffee and a bacon roll, I am impressed! I hope it continues to develop.

  • Comparisons: (KFRG) Default (No Photogrammetry) Bijan Burning Blue

They look great

kinda reminds me to my childhood since I want to climb on each one of them 🙃

but I'm afraid that it all looks better on paper and maybe not so in reality. like you know... those 'smaller trees' mods, you often can read 'don't buy this cr@p!'

and imho, it'a a bit complicated

I think I'll stick with default 2024, especially since Asobo improve them bit by bit.

and when they finally surpass them all - I would feel pretty stupid. and what will I do then with them then? 🙂

you did amazing comparison mate. Well done!

now all we need now is ALSO A REAL LIFE PIC 😁

I'm enjoying it very much. From the air, the northern side of Singapore, a place I'm familiar with IRL, looks much more authentic. More than worth the modest price.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

Well, like another recent product (whose name I can't remember right now) my question is: Where's the video?

I'll have no real opinion, or interest until then.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

It's been updated already -

Enhanced Global Vegetation has been updated to version 1.5.4

Despite only being out for a few days we have had huge amounts of feedback, from testers and users, both publicly and privately, most of it thankfully very positive. on the back of some observations around realism we have made the following changes:

Added additional ground plants (bushes, forest floor cover) to more locations worldwide, and restored ground-clutter variety (fallen branches, stumps, saplings) in mixed forests, marshes, chaparral, and eucalyptus woodland that had been accidentally stripped down Enriched grass density and variety in temperate meadow regions to better match real wildflower and grass-cluster patterns, while keeping our custom grass look Added more dead and fallen trees to African savannas, deserts, and Mediterranean woodlands, and fixed missing grass on sandy ground in deserts and savannas worldwide Fixed missing water-edge vegetation along two river regions in the US Softened the UK's abrupt winter-to-spring transition with more evergreens through winter and fresh spring growth/blossom, including spring green-up on several base tree species across the US, Canada, and UK Increased tree density on the US Eastern Seaboard (around a third) and UK South (around a quarter) Rebalanced West Coast California redwood forests: reduced overall density and cut the proportion of towering redwoods, filling gaps with more Douglas fir and pine Fixed grass getting too sparse at certain airports, and corrected town density in tropical, boreal, tundra/alpine, and southern-hemisphere arid regions Fixed several misclassified regions (East Afghan conifer forests, Canadian aspen parklands) that were far sparser than they should be.

Crops: Removed rice paddies from Arabia, added canola/rapeseed to prairie/steppe farmland, and cotton to the US Cotton Belt, India, and Central Asia.

Landed the Hawk at Scampton last night at dusk in VR and while taxying in I noticed the subtle differences in height and uniformity of the sycamore trees in the distance silhouetted against the darkening sky.

These things are very subtle and are almost subconscious, but they make a major impact on the experience of immersion.

Here's a fun one, at my expense! I installed EGV yesterday and never really tested it. Effectively, forgetting I had done so and began a flight into Vienna later in the day. On approach I thought to myself, those trees look great, varying heights, then, all of a sudden, I remembered I had installed EGV! biggrin Ah, the joys of getting older!

Well I'm a big fan of Bijan's work but given these early positive reports, I feel I must temporarily put Bijan's Seasons Enhanced into the archive and pick up this BBD package. Seems rude not to for a tenner and change!

This is one of those packages that I may well love once installed, but the problem I have is that I really like the existing default trees. Without seeing this product on my own PC, I am struggling to convince myself that it would be worth getting. I really like the density of trees that I see in MSFS 2024, so I would not want this to be reduced.

Maybe someone will have this running in MSFS 2024 at the UK Flightsim Show? That would at least give me the opportunity to see what it looks like "up close and personal". Sometimes, screenshots and video clips are not enough.....

It costs less than this morning’s bacon sandwich and pint of tea at my favourite Peak District motorcycle cafe 😄🥪🫖It’s definitely better than default and will only get better with feedback and updates by the sounds of it

The update changed my view of it. I thought it looked far too neat and tidy. Now it looks 'lived in'. Wooded areas and hedgerows, to my mind, the green trees look too uniform. Trees ready for inspection. Sah!

But then I cast my mind back to FSX and P3D...

Well I got it this morning. I had Bijan in 2020. Never installed in 2024. Did not think it needed it.

I saw very little difference, but I am sure it depends on the region and time of year.

This will not rock your world but the price is very low and it makes everything a little better.

Yeah, it’s a shame how IRL doesn’t match the sim well enough !! 🤣🤙

The graphics are better IRL though.

Just purchased and installed. Short flight in Newfoundland from Gander to Springdale airport. Obviously a more remote area to fly at 2000 agl to expect any special detail in scenery but I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it looked. Good value for the money.
