  1. Past hour
  2. I get that … but once you overcome the initial fear of looking like an I D I O T (the censorship on this site is hilarious: try typing that word without the spaces) it’s the edginess of being an actual participant in the real world that makes it immersive 😬
  3. The direct answer to OP question in topic can be found on FAQ section for BATC and SayIntenstions: BATC: Is BeyondATC powered by AI? We use the latest in AI technologies to process your voice, decide what the ATC should do, and generate highly realistic responses with AI voices. However, to keep the program affordable we do not use a LLM (Large Language Model) such as Gemini or ChatGPT. SayIntensions: How much does it cost? Why do you have to charge a subscription fee? $29.95/mo or $295 for a year. However, the price of AI services drops every few months, and we will pass those savings on to you when it happens. Because we're using modern, cutting-edge AI services, neural networks, insanely authentic voices, and machine learning, costs are incurred every time you communicate with ATC. Any ATC service that offers their product for a one-time fee isn't using AI. Don't be fooled by claims to the contrary.
  4. These characteristics make them perfect for user mods if purchased off marketplace.
  5. Look up some pictures of the rocks on google and look at how the Joshua Trees look. It's quite spectacular.
  6. This mod is working great in my system, but I have a strange side effect. Ground shadows cast by my aircraft are very jittery, whereas the aircraft itself moves smoothly. Anybody having the same issue who found a solution for it?
  7. I had snow on the ground at Megève (the airfield and town) using Live Weather just a few hours ago. Surrounding hills to the west were completely clear. Must emphasise this is snow on the ground; clear skies.
  8. Assuming it's the FSS 195 we are talking about, the new patch adds a significant level of support for that plane. Still works in progress, but the most exciting features you need with voice control are already there. I mean autopilot dialling, radios dialling, flaps and almost the entire overhead panel. Get the patch here: Manually replace/add files as per folder structure.
  9. One other thing to add is prior to this I could activate GSX at departure and landing by hitting ctrl+shft+F12, now when I get to my arrival I have to go to the toolbar and manually click GSX to get the menu back. Just an observation
  10. Because it adds a whole lot of stress which people don't necessarily want during their flight. I used it a few times a few years back, but it was not a pleasing experience because of the constant worry of f*****g up. Voice-aware ATC like BATC and SI gives you the immersion without the worry. Saying that I would never pay a subscription for it, so I'll stick with the former.
  11. I am South of Leicester by 15 miles and the colours were clearly visible to the naked eye. The photos I took used 'night mode' which is a three second exposure, so colours are enhanced. The first colours I detected were to the west! Bright red streak from overhead. Strangely I saw no colours towards the northern horizon. Brightest radiated from overhead from the west, through to the north east, where there were green and purplish colours The best displays only lasted about 20 minutes.I live on a narrow boat, so I have good dark skies.
  12. Maybe devoting 100% of their time to default MSFS 2024 aircraft?
  13. Looks good to download then. Thanks for your feedback
  14. Today
  15. Believe it or not, Google Chrome has started flagging anything that comes from ANY site other than https as potential malware (Microsoft Edge or Explored never did that). We had to add a SSL certificate to the site. Now,Google Chrome no longer complaining about anything. https://www.multicrewxp.com/Downloads.html
  16. Apparently there WAS a good display all the way down here in Guernsey. I'll nip out tonight, apparently might still be visible.
  17. well because that editor is old and can be much better like read the scenery taxiways and later you just edit just the names if they wrong etc and community is bigger in msfs, pilot2atc is not very popular software now if you compare with the new ones. if the developers are smart they can even share the file form and share between the different atc softwares. obligate to pay a subscription to navigraph chart to offline users definitely is not the solution. and i like the beyond atc approach to avoid the customer to pay even more
  18. Thank you all for your votes and posts so far. Yesterday, May 10, I didn't find a slot for simming but I'll try it this afternoon again. I started thge poll after talking to a couple fellow MSFS simmers who had also noticed strong stutters on thursday. I myself experienced quite a few, and it was a first time for me since I use MSFS 2020...
  19. Brilliant! A waiters' convention! Gorgeous shots. Are you using SimFX? Second shot looks like you might be.
  20. This is not the best approach, because it fully depends on the size of the user base. SI will always have a small userbase due to the exorbitant price, so many airports will never be done. Also people never update those files they uploaded, e.g. when the taxiways change or get added/removed; so the files will be outdated after a couple of months. How do I know? I am the one who published the larger part of the P2ATC files on flightsim.to. And I can only do that, because I use makerunways to read the scenery data and then adjust/fix afterwards. If I had to do every airport from ground (like one would have to do in SI), I'd not be doing it, it's just too much hassle. Doing EGLL or LEMD manually is a nightmare and takes half a day at least.
  21. Would be great if more people who like ATC’d flight would use VATSIM. It’s like a virtuous circle: the more people who use it, the busier (ie, better) it gets and the more controllers will want to come online for the challenge. Obviously it isn’t comprehensive etc but if you pick the right time and the right route you can get a great ATC experience interacting with real people - some of them (I believe) real-world ATC controllers. Plus … flight sim + actual human interaction = win-win: we get to use the lovely kit without turning into complete computer-hugging sociopaths. OK it’s too late for me but there’s still hope for the rest of you guys 😉
  22. Just highlighting an excellent piece of modding, only just discovered by myself, by Ezo21 from Poland available to download from the Org. This transforms the exterior and more importantly the cockpit. If your interests in heavy iron centre on inertia management and slow response jet engines the default MD 82 with the above package is a gem..and free ! With enough switchology to be interesting but not so much to bore or preclude half hour duration short hops in-between family duties. The auto's can hold an altitude and a heading, which is all I need, the rest is HOTAS. A great steam gauge alternative to that other great "default" freeware the glass cockpit 744 by Sparky. Cheers Tim
  23. Is there any fix for the age-old snow issue (whilst using live weather)? I've been patiently waiting all winter for some Alpine flying, spent money on airports in the region and this morning discover snow at Megève while the rest of the region (same altitude) is totally devoid of snow. Web cams say no snow. MeteoBlue says no snow (at said altitude and airport). MS says snow. There MUST be a workaround for this (as it's clear Asobo/MS is not too concerned with fixing it) using live weather. 🤷‍♂️
