Appreciate the response. I will test the new beta later.

This is most likely due to a bug/issue we had regarding altitude units on some language versions. We have a beta update out that addresses this, if so.

New User PMDG 737 Questions (MSFS)
scmtech replied to scmtech's topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
A "fsdt-msfs-bridge.wasm" file is present in my GSX community folder "\Packages\Community\fsdreamteam-gsx-pro\modules". MCE is installed at: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Multi Crew Experience" Thanks. -
Okay, I'll look them up. I've had Alienware laptops and XPS desktops for years. I love their warranties. They've always taken care of issues. Never had an Alienware desktop. EDIT: They have their grand opening in Charlotte May 10. This one is similar to the Alienware: https://www.microcenter.com/product/677549/hp-omen-45l-gt22-2090-gaming-pc Gregg

April 25, 2024 MSFS Development Update

Two characters in the clouds... creepy! -
In my opinion, FSHud isn’t quite there yet. Every update makes it better and it’s getting close to being where I’d like it to be.

[Scilly II] To the mainland - where I can land my DC-3 ..

That's an area I'd like to see! -
Curious, for anyone that uses FSHud to inject AIG Traffic. I would think AIFlow \ Ground is not needed. Anyone?

On the SU15 beta at least my download speeds have improved a lot. I’m in eastern Canada with gigabit internet -
Today, I've given up on using Active Sky's preset mode for the time being. I'm sticking with passive mode. The reason is the lack of variation in clouds injected in preset mode. Although some users say the opposite, that ASFS has a greater variety of clouds than live weather, in the cases I observed, it was different. Not only do ASFS clouds have almost no variation, but they also have very small variation in height, being almost flat, especially at the bottom and injected evenly as far as the eye can see. This is most evident in cloudy weather. When the METAR shows overcast conditions, ASFS almost always injects a 'carpet' of thin, uniform clouds without any variation in height or additional cloud layers. In contrast to what MSFS live weather shows for the same location. I'm not a meteorology expert and I even believe ASFS 'cloud carpet' depiction may even exist in real life and even look more realistic than MSFS live weather 'poof' clouds, but I think ASFS representation is quite exaggerated and may indicate some kind of limitation, such as only being able to inject a single layer of clouds. I've already said in a previous comment that I'm more interested in weather effects than the weather injection itself, so I don't mind too much if the live weather isn't realistic most of the time, but at least it seems to inject a greater variation of clouds layers than ASFS in my opinion, and it works better, with no abrupt transitions and no uniform weather as far as I can see. That's good enough for me. Regarding the weather effects, I decided to buy RealTurb, seeing comments from people who are using RealTurb together with ASFS without any problems. I think RealTurb would give an extra boost to weather effects, especially in-cloud turbulence, which ASFS currently lacks in passive mode. I bought RealTurb and I'm shocked. RealTurb's turbulence effects alone are better than ASFS. Not only are they are stronger, but they feel more 'natural' rather than abrupt like the ASFS. I would have been satisfied with RealTurb effects alone, but I decided to continue using ASFS in passive mode alongside it, since ASFS could give additional effects that RealTurb doesn't have. Anyway, I'm not going to say that Active Sky was a waste of money for me. I'll keep using it and wait for updates that might address the 'flat cloud' issue and improve weather effects. But for now, I'll use live weather.

I'll second this, and MicroCenter also has prebuilt machines (I believe PowerSpec is their in-house brand, and they also sell iBuyPower, Asus, Alienware, and some other brands). They can even help you pick out parts and build a custom machine for you from scratch if you'd like. I'm a fan of XPS laptops (and Alienware laptops) as well, but as others mentioned, you'll probably want to avoid Alienware desktops. Aside from the proprietary parts, a friend of mine bought a fancy water cooled Alienware system on a whim, and even with the water cooling that thing always sounds like a jet about to take off. I prefer leaving the jet sounds to MSFS. If you're within a few hours of a MicroCenter it's definitely worth the trek. But a word of caution: the place is like a candy store for everything tech and they usually have pretty good sales, so you may want to steer clear of browsing the aisles if you want to keep your wallet happy!

I think that it means if enabled, that your weather will refresh/rebuild every 7 min regardless of the download interval. So if you’ve flown over an area with different weather before another download happens, it will transition.

Very sharp! Enjoy!

I'm a little confused with this: - Added new option: Use periodic theme reloads. Default On. Enable this option to have the weather theme rebuilt periodically, approximately every 7 minutes, to provide updates and variation to the weather as you fly. Without this option enabled, updates will occur only as per your download interval setting. What's the difference between updates that occur based on regular download intervals vs. "periodic theme reloads"?

Nobody else reporting this???

I just had this happen in the PMDG 738. Was clicking through the FMC and it all locked up...one of the buttons on the FMC keypad is even stuck down! The EFB still works, which is pretty strange, but nothing else does. 😕 -

Patco Lch started following FSX Orbx OLC USA Indiana pyramids
-
Could it be an elevation issue caused by ORBX Vector? Or a layering issue in the scenery library? Just a thought.
-
Just curious, does it happen all the time, and are you using laptop
-
It used to be fairly easy to log on to Orbx and post a problem but it seems sort of difficult now, at least for me. Have not been there in years. Maybe someone has had this same issue. FSX - Orbx - OLC USA - Indiana pyramids

I would suggest visiting Microcenter in Charlotte if you don't feel comfortable building a PC yourself. At first, I was intimidated by the idea of assembling a computer. It took me approximately two weeks to find the correct parts and about three days to complete the build. However, by thoroughly researching each component, you can ensure that your build exceeds the quality and attention provided by many vendors. Don't settle for anything less than excellence - take the time to do your homework.

It's been happening on and off for a while, though only at Heathrow and Paris as of the moment as far as I can tell. I'm not sure which settings to lower tbh, when landing and approaching the airport I get a 30 FPS on the approach with relatively few stutters. So if it was a performance issue, wouldn't I see something there? Also yet another crash in Heathrow doing the 6pm back to Toronto. This time however it came with this error log, a G3d.dll crash with a 0005 exception. I also tried content error logging by P3D but it didn't catch anything of note and ended at entry 999. Jon.

Amazing what you can find in MSFS. My bro-in-law and wife are travelling in Europe and were at the dawn ceremony in Villers-Bretaneux yesterday. Freezing, they said. Good effort I'd say.
