I flew from MYNN > KTPA just now using ASN and REX4.  Here's approach to 19L ay KTPA.  Looks pretty good IMO.  Sometimes I'm afraid  to post cockpit pics, coz' the "procedure nutzis" might start crawling out of the woodwork...

This was my first time using RadarContact to line me up with the approach. Not bad.

The best clouds sets yet IMHO. Opus 3.36beta and my own sky-colors. No hdr. 512x512 res. Eyefinity @ 5292x1050. Mostly medium to high settings.

Im getting very good frames with this sets. Better than with overdrive. And they look much less "painted".  Water looked better in 1.4 though. But this is not rex fault...

Bottom line, is it worth it over Rex-OD? Also I'm a water fan, are the improvements noticeable?

Great shot Kattz. What aircraft?

Not really sure I need it, but I still bought it. Didn' get any $5 discount from FSS even though thats where I bought REX Essentials+OD :(

Care to share the names/numbers...?

Set 04 in this case. Others do look good as well. This one I like most because it gives me more the kind of volumetric clouds Im looking for. Plus the ugly patterns with the cirrus clouds are not so much conspicuous IMO.

I'm still on the fence about buying,,,I'm a huge water texture critic

The cirrus patterns is a bug in P3D, I already spoke to Wes about this and they are looking into it.

The water in REX4 is IMO much better, no silly tsumarmy size looking waves, I've tried a few now and some looks far better than anything I've used before and i'am very picky when it comes to looks.

A lot of people used my sets for the UK and I will post new sets when am 100% happy, so that won't be soon :-) but unlike just one set this time I will have lots to share.

REX4 is worth the price, it's all about subtly and carfull matching up. Loading a full set takes around 5 seconds so that along opens up a new world.

I am also curious to discover the improvements over REX Essentials Plus Overdrive. So far I have read and seen some improvements, convincing me to purchase the upgrade but I will find out more, as I test REX4! Look forward to hearing what you guys are finding out.

Yes they are designed to take advantage of the benefits of each platform; especially, the water, wave, and runway textures in which we have included specifically DX11 textures.  Also, the water class has been modified to fix an problem that has been an issue with FSX from day one.

Reed, the water effects for FSX are fantastic.  Very easy on the mind to assign what you see to reality.  Very well done!

I have it...and water for myself, is paramount.  You will NOT be disappointed. No sir.

Night and Day.  REX4's water treatments make the ocean come alive...you even sense 'wind' down there...
