Has anyone got the Vertx DA-62 in P3Dv4?
Ray Proudfoot replied to Ray Proudfoot's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Thank you all for your input. I agree with @DonMuskopf and @johncott in that changing the startup mode in the Config Tool doesn't result in that state being loaded on first attempt. But going into the Vehicle Menu and reselecting the same registration makes no difference. The same mode remains. But if you select another DA-62 registration that does force the mode to change. It's all very strange when Windows 11 detects no changes to any file. So Sean is doing something very clever behind the scenes in saving your preference. Quite how is beyond me. It's also unusual for a configuration tool to work when P3D is running. It usually requires exclusive access. That perhaps explains why a re-selection of the aircraft is required. I'm choosing Remember so whatever state the aircraft was in when P3D closed (or CTD'd) will be the mode on nect load. -

I think this is because how fg works, you need at least 60 fps solid to have no artifacts. -

Wonder if they'll implement a function so you can buy the Piston / Turbine at a discount (essentially bundle price) if you've bought one of the versions, in case you decide to try what the other side is like. -

No, I purchased it from JustFlight. During the installation process I was asked if I'm in SU15 beta, which I confirmed with YES. -

Ray Proudfoot replied to Yosserhughes's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
Hi @Yosserhughes, okay so we need to compromise somewhere. The case could probably be substituted for a cheaper one. The components i wouldn’t change are the CPU, GPU* and 32Gb DDR5 RAM. Have a chat with Chillblast as they’ll help you towards your budget. But if you can find a bit more money it would guarantee you a PC that would last many years and give you excellent service. * Your monitor is almost certainly 1920*1080 so if you don’t intend going to a higher resolution a 3000 GPU could be a compromise. - Today

But if you don't call "I'm ready for descend" BATC at a point will request you to do so.
-
This is not how this works in real life. If there are no internal crossing restrictions ATC has for incoming traffic, you will most likely never get a descend clearance upon reaching your TOD. ATC does not calculate the descend rate for you. It's your job to tell ATC about 5 Miles before your TOD that you are ready to descend.

Thanks for this information. From the reading I have done, it appears BeyondATC does use AI for the voices. But it's uncertain if BeyondATC uses AI for the ATC instructions part, whereas SayIntentions.AI is using ChatGPT (technically, I think it's GPT-4) for their ATC instructions part. As many people have said, BeyondATC is using scripting for their ATC instructions part. Whether it's pure scripting without AI at all, or they actually use AI in conjunction with their scripting, I am not certain. But it does explain why some of SayIntentions.AI's costs are higher, because they are using ChatGPT. As for the voice emulation component, I would hope that SayIntentions.AI is using a cheap voice AI vendor, because BeyondATC was able to negotiate with their voice AI vendor, such that all Basic voices are free on BeyondATC.

Decided to give this a go, first flight was CYHZ-CYOW in the FSS E195. This was flown completely with menu inputs, auto respond and auto radio tune, no voice from me at all. Generally I see a lot of good here, it handled my ground ATC without issue and generally things went well. One issue was that after departure I was handed off directly to Moncton “Radar” rather than Halifax Departure. Second issue is that the Canadian Centre frequencies I encountered were all referred to as “Radar”. After takeoff I was cleared all the way to my cruise altitude which wouldn’t normally happen, there should be at least on intermediate altitude (FL230 in this case) before you are handed to centre. Maybe I was cleared all the way because of the direct handoff to centre. Got the STAR clearance, all was good although it asked me to tell it when I wanted to descend. It’s good to have this option but I’d want to ATC starting to descend me appropriately on its own. eventually I was cleared for radar vectors for the 07 ILS. I had previously programmed a direct transition from the STAR to ILS so when I got to the end of the STAR the aircraft turned and intercepted the ILS and I didn’t hear from ATC again. In retrospect I should have kept flying on the last STAR heading until ATC vectored me (one of those habits from ignoring MSFS ATC for so long lol). However, ATC didn’t give me any grief for deviating, I just got the silent treatment and no tower handoff. All in all I see huge potential and it’s already much better than default ATC. I’m happy with my purchase and will look forward to watching it develop. Certainly some resiliency if things go off script would be an area of focus for me. The only other thing I’d add is I have the annoying ding sounds (I think it’s a Microsoft speech recognition sound?) when I “transmit” and when ATC says anything. If anyone knows how to get rid of those I’d be grateful.

I get that … but once you overcome the initial fear of looking like an I D I O T (the censorship on this site is hilarious: try typing that word without the spaces) it’s the edginess of being an actual participant in the real world that makes it immersive 😬 -
The direct answer to OP question in topic can be found on FAQ section for BATC and SayIntenstions: BATC: Is BeyondATC powered by AI? We use the latest in AI technologies to process your voice, decide what the ATC should do, and generate highly realistic responses with AI voices. However, to keep the program affordable we do not use a LLM (Large Language Model) such as Gemini or ChatGPT. SayIntensions: How much does it cost? Why do you have to charge a subscription fee? $29.95/mo or $295 for a year. However, the price of AI services drops every few months, and we will pass those savings on to you when it happens. Because we're using modern, cutting-edge AI services, neural networks, insanely authentic voices, and machine learning, costs are incurred every time you communicate with ATC. Any ATC service that offers their product for a one-time fee isn't using AI. Don't be fooled by claims to the contrary.

Frame generation for all RTX cards

This mod is working great in my system, but I have a strange side effect. Ground shadows cast by my aircraft are very jittery, whereas the aircraft itself moves smoothly. Anybody having the same issue who found a solution for it?
