New company, but could be “older” developer vets on board.  It’s more than just one guy.

Definitely older dev vets onboard.  It was mentioned in the twitch stream (I think one was with TFDi).  He is just the figurehead pulling it all together.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

200 Liveries / variations already painted.  IAE engine model coming as well.  280 breakers fully working.  383 failures on the list.  The passion put into this project is amazing.  I sincerely hope they can pull it off.

Funniest comment on the twitch feed...

What does "is being released" in the thread title mean? Has anything been said by the developers about a release window or even date?

In proper English, being means "in the process of", but a lot of people tend to use it instead to mean "going to be", which is what I assume the OP meant here.

Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.
The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.

There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you.
It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Well, if Asobo gets the live weather sorted by SU7 as they intend and this is released and lives up to what we are being told, then.....wait for it,.... I'm going to finally move from P3D to MSFS. And I'm a diehard P3D user and have not given MSFS a thought. But now, after above parameters are met, I'd be stupid to not switch.

You won't believe how great the scenery looks, moving to MSFS.

First,,,,watch the twitch stream all the way thru...at least to the part when they talk about not knowing there was an electric fan in the vent system that kicks on as the ram air door closes slowly during takeoff, to help with the airflow into the avionics bay, which was causing the increased heat to be shown on the ECIAS (and overheating if I remember)...is that system and heat dynamics modeling taken to the extreme or what? 😁

If you made it at least that far in the vid (about 35 mins in), and after seeing the pics of the modeling/painting where the screw heads are each rotated differently (because as you know if you screw in 50 screws, maybe 5 or 6 will be in the exact same position), in addition to paint knocked off rivet heads where they are on the real aircraft....IF after all that, and with the default skepticism in place (but not to prevent yourself from being excited and hopeful for this)...you don't think this plane will blow any FSL version completely off the charts, then there are only 3 scenarios you can put yourself in:

  1. You work for FSL and know better (or a helpless fan who'll chant their praises to the end of days regardless).
  2. You don't believe anything until you are flying it yourself and can confirm the hype (not a bad thing, but you sure miss out on the excitement before the fact....but are also 100% assured of not being disappointed, hehe)
  3. You are about to completely leave the flight simulation hobby because ...even if thoroughly believing all that was mentioned in the video will become a reality... its still not realistic enough for you. 🤣

Personally, I am totally blown away with what they were showing...and even with my skepticism meter right in the middle...I am very hopeful and choose to believe it will happen (in my lifetime), and we'll all be flying this plane with jaws dropped.

Exciting times no matter what each one of us chooses to believe.

Steve Dra

I know, that's why I asked because, as far as I know, nothing has been said about when this will see the light of day. Based on the title however I assumed it was right around the corner, which made me think maybe I missed something.

How can this be anything else then 100% amazing?!

Specs: 11900K (5ghz), 64GB ram 3600mhz, RTX 3080 ti

After watching the twitch video it is clear that they put their heart and soul into this project and it shows.

Instant buy for me, no matter what the price is!

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

The name is interesting.

Fenix

Not far off 'Phoenix', from the ashes. I wonder where the other developers of the team have come from?

& completely left swerve, anyone know what has happened to Jarrad Marshall, formerly??, with Orbx.??

The introduction looks to be reasonably carefully planned, involve Fselite, involve some Twitchers with street cred.

T45

Not my bag but enjoying a vicarious thrill through everyone else’s excitement. Can only be good for the sim.

i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

Wow looks promising. Have they mentioned any timeframe for release? It looks to me definitely this year is coming, is it ?
