I use a large 55-inch 4K screen with an RTX 4090 and I thought I would never be able to increase the smoothness to this extent while doubling the fps. However... I am so grateful to our friend IslandSimPilot that I would kiss him passionately if he were a beautiful woman... 😊 For less than $10, I just got the best deal of my entire flight sim life. 1/ Works in HDR on a 165Hz screen. 2/ No need to have the Steam version, it works perfectly with the Store. 3/ No notable artifacts. 4/ Works in "full" screen. 5/ And yes, it doubled my fps!! Try this program, if it does not suit you you can request a refund. And if it suits you, buy IslandSimPilot a virtual beer. 👍 Do you need to be running it in DX12? (Stupid question)
June 12, 20241 yr Tried it...for only $7, it's worth a shot. I, personally didn't like it...the in game frame gen works really well by itself. I could see the use case if you're running a legacy GPU or in something like P3D or XPL, but for MSFS with a 40 series card running 1 screen, it wasn't really worth it. Lots of noticeable artifacting (more so than regular FG) no real benefit. Tried the 3X mode too, it was fun to see the "numbers," but as far as smoothness and image quality, it was about the same as 2X. I may try it on other games/sims and see how it stacks up. But if it can be used with DX11, that alone may make it worth using. AMD 9950X3D | 64 GB RAM | RTX 5090 FMR: 747 FO, 757/767 CAPT, 737 Check Airman Current 777 CAPT

Regular FG only works on the primary monitor.. . I'm not running true multi-monitor - as my 4090 can't even remotely handle MSFS at 3x4k - but instead I run a 2x4k (7680x2160) window along with NvidiaSurround, so it's centered across my 3 monitors. My results, using IslandSimPilot's settings, are as follows (test case Longitude on runway at KDCA, Clear Skies, no AI traffic, TAA, RS 100, FG on, DX12, TLOD 200, most settings Ultra, OLOD 195): Default with FG on: 67 FPS Default with FG off: 41 FPS Lossless Scaling with FG on: 44 FPS Lossless Scaling with FG off: 32 FPS It also does have the downside of blanking out the other screen space on my side monitors; I tend to use these for charts etc., so that would be an unfortunate loss, although I do also have a single upper monitor that I use for that purpose, so it wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me. But as of now, I'm only seeing a performance loss with this tool, unfortunately.
June 12, 20241 yr This thing works really good for me. No artifacts or issues. I set my monitor to 100 and Max FPS 50 and use 2x and sat in KLGA with full traffic and over 80 FPS. Wow Question - Can I run this app without launching steam every time ?

My center monitor is 3440x1440 and the two side ones are 1920x1080. I've setup the side views to get them as close as possible to aligned with the center monitor to provide a nice side window view but since they are at different resolutions I can't get it perfect, but it works for me. My system specs are ok (in my opinion) - Legion 5 laptop w/ 11th gen i7 (2.3 GHz), 32GB RAM and an RTX 3080 running in an eGPU across a Thunderbolt 3 connection (I disabled the RTX3070 laptop GPU). I generally get in the low to mid 20's for FPS (no AI trafffic, running ActiveSky and flying BS Duke, flying PMDG I'd get a pretty solid 20 FPS, I'm running AutoFPS too As far as running the LS app - I'm using multi display mode with the 3440x1440 center monitor set as the output display. The app allows me to choose the monitor I want to apply scaling to - after I hit the scale button a 5 second countdown timer starts and I just click the mouse on the center monitor and it scales only that monitor at the end of the countdown. The outer two monitors remain unscaled and basically the same they've always been. The center monitor fluidity/smoothness has been significantly increased. I don't know how else to quantify it but to say it is very noticeable and much much better. I did have the center display freeze one time but a quick click on Unscale then Scale to restart the scaling worked well. Well see how it goes over time and multiple flights but for me there is no question that it is worth the $7 spent. Edited June 12, 20241 yr by KevinS137

June 12, 20241 yr 1. Does it work with NV 30xx series? 2. If yes, does it support/work with the dlssg_to_fsr mod (FG for 30xx cards)? June 12, 20241 yr I have an 3080 and all I did was install via steam setup 2x turned off hdr, crazy colors. Set the max to 120 which is my Sony tv in the Nvidia control panel. It was ridiculously smooth. Was maxed out at 120 frames. I have not tweaked it very much yet. FPS did drop down some at times 80 fps. 😀 I will post a pic. It is amazing and I have yet to see an artifact. Thanks islandsimpilot! https://photos.app.goo.gl/oqugZipwpzEUL1mf9 Edited June 12, 20241 yr by cchiozza Chris Chiozza

Using default FG my center monitor is always smooth. The right monitor is almost smooth the entire time It is the left monitor that sometimes has jittering but that might be because it is connected to another pc using WidevieW. For WidevieW it is important to sent as much packages (with coordinates) from server to client, so restricting the server to 30 it will update the clients position 30 times/second. I might try this app on my left view pc to see if it helps getting it smoother. The framerate is no issue on that pc : most of the time 120 with FG on and sometimes it goes down as low as 94. Using Unlimited proved the best on both pc’s. So I am not sure if this app will help as I need to limit the framerate … Edited June 12, 20241 yr by GSalden 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

June 12, 20241 yr Thanks for the heads up! It's better than the DLSS-FSR3 mod even though not "miraculous" after all... artifacts are still there during quick panning (clouds, poles...) and it doesn't work with VRR. The best settings for me are: Monitor refresh rate at 60 Hz FG at 2X MSFS framerate locked at 30 in NVCP 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber
