They have talked about ground vehicle ai, but not about a better plane ai?

They took a ton of questions across various topics, seems like they focused on topics that were not covered much in detail at the preview event (weather for example). They didn't say anything or nothing much at all on world visual fidelity improvements, ground handling, general flight dynamics and aircraft development as those I felt got the most coverage from the preview event. Anyways, much more info to come before launch.

A couple of surprises to me were the Auto FPS like capability in-sim.. and then the 24hr historic "everything" always stored and not just basic weather data (as per traditional historic weather data) but *all* weather data/happenings the sim used on the server-side, and then also AI traffic, ships/boats traffic, etc.

Well it seems Jorg had us misled about properly functional weather radar unless Martial misunderstood the question. A bit disappointing if true. The lack of tilt function has been a sticking point for the platform and it is something they need to fix ASAP 

I think the biggest issue they have with these streams is they don't lay out a clear path of what's going to be discussed which creates a frenzy of questions, trolls, and butt-hurt when a topic isn't covered. I don't have the perfect solution for their future streams, but I personally was not expecting 7 slides of questions. I was expecting a handful of discussions on important topics about the new sim followed up with visuals to show off some of this new amazingness we are getting. To me, this was literal death by powerpoint (slides). 

I hate sounding like the guy who can't be pleased, but after all the Q&A sessions they've had so far, you would think this would be mostly a seamless stream with an understanding of what folks want to see. And personally, bringing out the ban hammer to control chat drama is excessive - especially for such an easy question that the community wants to know about. If you know the question being asked, then answer it or at a minimum say you'll swing back around to it. I'm sure 2024 will be great, but I really wish they would work on how they control these streams with some better planning.

Well it will be interesting to see if the benefits of SMT off are outweighed by the benefits of SMT on in MSFS2024.   I predict we'll be absolutely fine with 7800X3D.   @Dermot McClusky I do not consider a 7900X3D or 7950X3D to be an "upgrade", certainly not for MSFS2020 and I predict not for MSFS2024 either.

Jorg's comment about atc was along the lines of "There are improvements, but it is not as good as SayIntentions or BATC."  So. we'll see.

 

Thanks for all the updates guys 👍🏻 I've been in a meeting and secretly refreshing this page every 2 minutes to see what's happening. 

I'm in the market for a new computer and the 8 core/12 core CPU chat is interesting. I'll have to do more research.

Always amazing how some Asobo guys regularly seem half suprised half indignant that people might actually want a realistic ATC or a realistic weather radar instead of tornados and giraffes.

The SDK topic is being covered as a separate livestream/session, next week I believe.

According to Jörg all those MSFS20 handcrafted airports were upgraded by teams like Gaya and are now included in MSFS24.
And let’s be honest here - every added airport after World Update 3 or 4 is quite good and definitely not "freeware level"

And let’s be honest here - every added airport after World Update 3 or 4 is quite good and definitely not "freeware level"

 

 

They may be better, but still not at payware standard in my book.  KATL, KDFW are very poor.

we’ll see, I guess. Gaya only started working for them after the USA World Update

Edit: Apperently they´ve been working on the terrain and some POIs before that. Their first airports without Asobos involvement were after a few world updates though

I was under the impression gaya did atlanta

So is it worth a watch? Or is it a repeat of what we already know + Caught In The Headlights because they don't understand a question style affair!?
