Back to MSFS 2020. I hate this stupid GUI

Actually I find the GUI quite simple and intuitive. Found the Control settings immediately, much easier than in 2020.

Today I flew around Dresden (couldn't load any other area because of server overload) tested the balloon, several planes and the Replay Recorder. I liked what I saw.

I don't mind the UI either. Now binding the controls...not sure yet.

Does that mean that streaming issues might be related to the area you're flying in? Does that mean you might lose your connection or get bad graphics when arriving in an area with a high demand? Like - lets say - a Vatsim event?

As always!

I have now tried MSFS 2024 for a few hours. What I miss sofar, compared to 2020, is the Developer mode (for spotting an AI aircraft) and how to load or save a flight (a basic function for a flight simulator). Anyone knows where that has gone?

They probably thought, that finding the developer mode is the dev entry test. If you fail that test, you shall not be a dev (it is OPTIONS -> GENERAL -> Advanced Options -> [look for the top entry]). 🙂

I saw that I could save a flight when briefly glancing at the options in the EFB (at the bottom).

I agree the bindings are a real pain to deal with atm. So many are duplicated in other devices by default, they keep making new profiles when you save, repetitious input or whatever is on and locked by default in a lot of cases blah blah blah. And don’t get me started on Tobii…

Having said that, it’s clearly WAY more than just a few cosmetic changes, and I know once I get out of the bindings bog, good times are waiting,

No, sorry for being not precise. I meant that the area around Dresden was already in the cache and therefore the scenery loaded fast after the first time. Loading times considerably lengthened when starting the flight with a new aircraft. Loading a flight in Innsbruck or at the Grand Canyon simply lastet so long that I lost my patience and went back to EDAR.

Ahhh - alright. Thanks for clarifying 👍

I'm back to 2020 due to the 100% streaming in 2024.

4000 percent increase in terrian detail? A joke or serious? It looks the same because it is the same....

It looks the same because it is the same?  Here are some screengrabs I just took of MSFS2024 showing that 4,000 percent extra detail.  You can land on the terrain in the same places in 2020 - try it in 2024.

No because that inst the whole world in 24. Its a few places and i have payware stuff that looks like that. I mod in a driving sim and its not that amazing when you know how its done.

Maybe off topic but has anyone found a way to go straight into the cockpit by default instead of walking around outside? Thanks

From a YT video I watched...V1-Simulations used Shift+C, I believe.

You are incorrect again.  Everywhere I look the ground terrain is fantastic and it isn't a mod, its default.

The wording in the EFB seems to imply that you can save a .FLT file but the only available option is to save a .PLN file.
