Back to MSFS 2020. I hate this stupid GUI

Which NONE of us want.

What? I don't even understand what you mean. Unless by "same GAME experience" you mean "logical, self-explanatory UI".

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

4000 percent increase in terrain detail not good enough for you?

With the problems downloading and streaming on the first day, you are not going to have a lot of videos.

4000 percent increase in terrian detail? A joke or serious? It looks the same because it is the same....

Thank you pete for your once again insightful feedback that most certainly is taken seriously by all around. You continue to reinforce that you are just a troll, does it not get tiresome?

He’s not a troll just because you disagree with him.

He’s offering a different opinion which he’s perfectly entitled to do.

I like it! It's much easier to find the settings. Like anything else, it just takes a little familiarization.

MSFS

First thing I've done in both 2020 and 2024 is set my hat switch to work like it did in FS98 for both internal and external views, another button to reset and one to switch internal and exterior views. It's worked for over three decades now and still works

Long live MSFS 2020

Now hopefully 3rd party devs will walk back their stance on not developing for 2020…

I don't disagree or agree with pete's comment but quite frankly what does it add to the conversation? None of their comments are ever constructive and their attempts at being constructive are hollow using the same talking points over and over.

Ray you and I both know Pete, Franz and the usual few make comments with no useful basis to the topic at hand, to drum up argumentative discussion. Whenever you (not you directly) critically call them out on this they either ignore you or try and instigate someone else. This happens every single time without fail.

I don't know why you focus so much and let these select few run around in the forums without any kind moderation on the basis of "a differing opinion" when in reality they simply start argumentative behaviour time and time again.

The annoying part is, you and everyone else in this sub-forum know this.

What I can tell you is that P3D was (is!) much more realistic than MSFS 2020 and 2024 in that matter.
No serious corporate flying school will ever use Microsoft FS for their students, never.

Indeed, MS is making a game of it. A flight simulator is not a game...

I have now tried MSFS 2024 for a few hours. What I miss sofar, compared to 2020, is the Developer mode (for spotting an AI aircraft) and how to load or save a flight (a basic function for a flight simulator). Anyone knows where that has gone?

Sorry to hear about your disappointment. Truly. Since you mentioned you also fly airliners 90% of the time, I'm curious as to why you're using MSFS.

With that answer, you have lost credibility.  You are just on a rant.

Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440

External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

So - since there are multiple reports concerning the UI. Was this different in the Tech-Alpha? I've actually have not seen videos from the set-up process, but I had the impression people could fly. So - I have not considered the controls set-up or the UI to be such a basic issue....

I thought we were talking about one person. Why the use of plural? Some comments don’t add to the discussion. That doesn’t mean they’re not allowed. Looking at the profile of the person who posted he has an excellent record so “troll” is undeserved.

Some are in moderation and you won’t see the ones we don’t approve. If we didn’t do that you’d have a lot more to complain about. 😁

Have you any idea how busy we’ve been in the last 24 hours? There’s no way we can check everything. We rely on posts being reported. I just happened to see yours as the topic title was interesting.

Maybe off topic but has anyone found a way to go straight into the cockpit by default instead of walking around outside? Thanks

Actually I find the GUI quite simple and intuitive. Found the Control settings immediately, much easier than in 2020.

Today I flew around Dresden (couldn't load any other area because of server overload) tested the balloon, several planes and the Replay Recorder. I liked what I saw.
