Next try was one of the typhoons with 90mph winds - came out from behind a building and flipped over!

Ouch! :LMAO:

  • $50/$30 and no textures..  Gotta pass on that..  Did the same for Opus.. Weather depiction alone isn't worth that much to me.. AS2012 will stay

  • Yesterday I tried to make a comparison between ASN and Opus. I have been using Opus with full satisfaction for the last year and I was curious to compare it with ASN, after all the hypes and comments

Take a closer look at the flight briefing (by clicking on the "Briefing" button)...the average winds and temps are in the first line of the briefing right under the heading "Concise weather briefing:".

There's a lot of other good info there as well!

Winds aloft shows 360/13 (-6.32) and this is at FL270? Is it ISA deviation calculated or a bug?

Have just bought the full version (even though I have all previous releases).   :clapping:

Thanks,

Dirk.

Setting that to 12 is not advisable

What is the default value in fsx.cfg? I've used 12 for quite a while.

Thanks,

Dirk.

I hope HiFi will add averages at the declared cruise level, which is required by most FMS. The above numbers are just combined averages over all flight plan way points.

Thanks,

Dirk.

Hi all

Currently running ASE on a second computer via Simconnect - just wondering if anyone is doing the same with ASN without any problems ?

Regards

This tool+Tongass Fjords+Aerosoft Twotter = bush pilot nirvana.

Tongass Fjords is on sale on simMarket atm... wish there was a Christmas deal for ASN too, 44€ is hefty. But it is really really good!

It gives that info in the Briefing page as well as telling with FL will give you the most favourable winds.

I am, Gary, and without issue. Do pay careful attention to the Networking section of the ASN User's Guide though, as you may need to update your Simconnect installation on the client machine.

Currently testing - seems nice but I have some doubts, so need help in clarifying those issues:

1. Can I use it along with REX textures? (I assume yes but just please confirm if it won't affect anything)

2. How should I set up FSX settings in the matter of turbulence? Should I disable them in FSX and let AS do the job? Will it actually do the job and will Accufeel enhance this or I need to leave this option as on? Does AS enhance FSX turbulence or provides its own?

@Mephic to answer your questions, yes you can use REX. No it doesn't matter what any of your settings are in FSX or FSUIPC for that matter, ASN will override them as it needs to.

Cheers, Andy.

Why would cloud textures interfere with a wx generator?

@upup thanks. @up - no idea, just wanted to know if there won't be any issues.

Just checked it by myself - not every weather theme/clouds actually fit ASN. When there is a stormy weather one of my theme packs cause a weird situation - until 1,500 ft clouds appear to be far, far away and suddenly I can't see anything.

Went from as2012 networked via simconnect to ASN without changing a thing!

Seem to be experiencing some wicked juddering in the Q400. Flying LIME-LDZA and sat at FL210 with clouds at least 10,000ft below. Anyone else suffered similar? Due to Q400 FDE outside of FSX maybe?

As soon as FSPilotShop gets 1.008 of the Q400 uploaded I will be trying this out ASAP :)

Ok - turbulence works brilliant. Whole system is definitely a must have and after 7 days trial im buying it 100% :)

Although I checked some other rex texture themes and I can't find a solution to the issue I mentioned above:

Flying in thunderstorm, clouds are hanging far above me, passing 1.5k feet when clouds still seem to be high above and bam - can't see anything and clouds everywhere around. Is it the same with default clouds?
