No either-or choice for me.. will get and install 2024 in the early days and enjoy all its new features flying the default fleet. And keep 2020 around and use it whenever I need to fly certain 3rd party aircraft that's not been made compatible with 2024 yet. That said, going to be *really* hard for me to keep going back to 2020 once I've used 2024 I'm sure 😅. Once all aircraft I care about are compatible or native to 2024 then 2020 will be retired from my machine.

Hilarious that they included Kiribati in the list. Great wink and a nod to the community.

  • Instant buy, but I'm not optimistic we could immediately use it 100% as a replacement for 2020.

Pre-ordered the aviator edition and will install on day 1. I prepare for the worst but there will be no way back.

but somehow this time Kiribati is 1 hour later than everybody else, it would have to be 4:00 am instead of 5:00 unless there is a mistake in their schedule?

Buy ASAP. By the time I've worked out the controls, all the bugs will have been fixed.

😉

Haha well said.  I used the alpha and it was kinda a pain in the rear to get everything setup again...and it kept losing my settings...alpha bugs hopefully lol

I bought a new 2TB Drive for P3dv5 and MSFS2024. MSFS2020 is now on a stand-alone drive. I have had the chance of upgrading 3 times the last 2 years and yet here i am with my old GTX1080TI EVGA and a overclocked i7@4770K with 32GB DDR3-2400mhz 🙂running MSFS at 2K with high settings@25 fps VSYNC.

Now i AM waiting for the 9800X3d - RTX5090 so we will see

I'll prepurchase the Premium Deluxe Edition this weekend, and then start the install next Tuesday. I'm expecting a slow download.

Uninstalled MSFS 2020 months ago, and will never touch it again!

Same.. Instant buy But....

Its going to be a gradual changeover. MSFS2020 is actually running quite well now so ill maybe just do some light general aviation stuff on the new version just like i did with 2020 and work my way over.

I would wait few weeks 😅. One thing I am lazy about is to redo the whole control mappings again

I already have Game Pass, but haven't bought any of the editions.  I have no time during weeknights anyway, so I'll probably download it late one night and won't even touch it until the weekend at the earliest.  If things seem to be a total mess, I'll just hold off.

I don't know why exactly, but I have less excitement for this.  Don't get me wrong, I'll buy it and enjoy it, but I'm in no rush.

The week after launch is a long holiday weekend for those of us in the US, so that's when I'll probably dive into things.

Pre-purchased. It's a proven franchise so no need to be shy about it. I bought a brand new SSD 2 TB Samsung so will install there. I'll leave 2020 on the other drive for a bit then remove when some of my key planes are ported over such as IFly's Max 8.

I have game pass set to download it, so it will be ready when I get home from work. The next two days I’m off work before my weekend in - so I’ll access it during that period and go from there.
