A QA team can do a lot, but they still can't test everything!

Even for Diablo 4, they had an open beta on multiple weekends because the QA team couldn't test everything and Blizzard needed the help of the Diablo community to help test Diablo 4.

And there is one crucial point that you miss about MSFS that separates it from other games, including Diablo 4. Not only is MSFS multiplayer, which increases the complexity, but it is open to working with external add-ons, which increases the complexity drastically.

Diablo 4, and also other types of MMORPGs are closed and don't have to work with external add-ons. It's much easier to test for those. And despite being easier to test for, I can tell you that Diablo 4's QA team couldn't do it all and required the help of the public.

I'm not including external mods, it's the base simulation that they're failing with in regards to Quality Assurance. Of course they still cannot test everything, but time and time again blatantly obvious issues are found by anyone running the simulation for the first time (again see MSFS24).

You can make all the excuses you like, that's fine, but in my opinion they are extremely poor in this area and have been since 2020s release.

Setup with MSFS 2024 is a PIA and that is to put it politely.  But have to admit both seem to have their own Zen's oh and 2024 is looking pretty cool oh and the potential growth. 2020 may have been the carnival ride and 2024 may turn out to be the orient express roller coaster.  Oh yeah and then them updates that could try some zen masters 😉      Just stepped into 2024 myself and been a couple of weeks since I have scene 2020 😮

P.S. No problems with the update Thanks

They need a lead tester who is methodical, thorough and has a proper influence on outcomes after bugs are discovered. It cannot be possible that they are releasing the sim and its updates without noticing what everyone else is noticing. The same applied to FS2020.

Agree completely.

That wasn't the impression they gave. Why didn't they say most 'airports'?

They said add ons when they first started advertising 2024, not just airports.

That's why I said they don't have enough testers and it was obvious in MSFS 2020. More testers cost money. But the cheaper way for them to test is doing whatever in house testing they can, and then throwing it to the community to test in the Sim Update public open betas.

There was never an official public open beta for MSFS 2024 (some people will remark that we are currently unofficial beta testers for MSFS 2024 right now).  The first official public beta for MSFS 2024 should be SU1.

The thing is most of the aircraft also work perfectly well in 2024. Not a single aircraft I purchased on the Marketplace -- the Carendo M20R, the Skylane, the HJet, the M500, the Sting Ultralight -- are not working, they are all in 2024 and working basically fine. I purchased 81 airports from the Marketplace and all but 3 or 4 are working just fine in 2024, there are some anomalies on a few of these but this is really up to the developer to refine. The 3 or 4 sceneries I am missing are from a developer that has left the stage so I understand why they may not have been able to bring these over. I think Asobo was completely transparent and accurate in what they said, almost everything sold in the Marketplace would work in 2024. I was a little frustrated that it took over a month to make everything in my library available, but they have done what they said. And, really, it is a pretty impressive thing that they were able to bring so much over relatively seamlessly.  Do we forget the 2004 to FSX transition.

I am not impressed by the launch of 2024, it has been messy and difficult for many including our third-party developers, but it is a sold platform that should mature quite well and become the best platform for home flight simulation. It needs time and work from both Asobo and developers.

I see him less since then, he talks a lot less about FS24 marketing now. I think I saw him today. He was in the middle of trying to play a joke.

And what are you trying to play, lol? Would be nice to see less of these childish personal attacks, only because someone disagrees... For **** sake people, grow up!

A perfect example of hyperbole vs reason. Many of us seem to cling to the first.

Well someone sure as hell lied because they all told us it was awesome pre-release but it turned out to be a pile of dog word not allowede.

Yeah but you're right we all know that sales people never knowingly mislead us and people who have influence don't accept payment to leverage that influence against the consumers interest. My bad.

There are errors that it is impossible for a team of professional testers to have missed. I have been a volunteer tester for years for top video game companies and Asobo's quality team is very bad.

Regardless of this, even if you have a good quality team, the logical thing to do nowadays is to rely on the community of players, they will give you invaluable feedback.

I don't understand why they stopped doing public betas in the last patches and they haven't done it with 2024 either, it only occurs to me that if they had done it the amount of returns would have been unbearable for their balance sheets

I'm getting all warm and fuzzy 🥰 We should all get together sometime! We are MSFS fans after all. I remember the days when there were only wars going on between users of different sims. Not that this is any less silly, lol!

So I just loaded 2024. Sitting at LAX doing nothing and it restarts my PC. Nice job Asobo!

What do Asobo have to do with your computer restarting? Maybe there's a problem with your computer? I've not seen any other posts stating that 2024 is causing their computer to restart.

Why are you blaming your busted system on Asobo?
