My understanding is that REX EF reads also Weather data, along your flights, and then changes automaticly the lightning/brightness, coloring, wavespeed, wavesize Saturization, and sky-/cloud-textures in flight without recompiling which so far as I know PTA isnยดt capable of (No weather influenced automation mode to change shaders). Or am I wrong? Does PTA v3 read weather Data to adjust automaticly the environment? Regards Marcus
  4. But, perhaps, not too much more than 17%. If you're talking about raw, clock-for-clock, single thread performance then nothing has changed that much over those generations. Scroll down to the IPC/Single thread chart here: https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/intel_core_i9_9900k_processor_review,7.html The latest CPUs tend to have higher base and turbo frequencies which give better performance in flight sims and newer chipsets and faster memory also each add a little to that performance increase. But for anything still relying predominantly on single core performance (like most flight sims), assuming that nothing else is causing a bottleneck, it's unlikely that you'd see massive gains over many older CPUs with a similar clock speed. It's the fact that the latest CPUs are able to reach higher clock speeds, rather than the fact that they have more cores, that make them more attractive in this genre. That's the real reason, in my opinion, why AMD processors seem to have been less popular with flight sim enthusiasts.

    Piper Aztec PA23-250 (Help Needed)

FBO is Fixed Base Operator or in layman's terms, a service center at airports. They provide many services to pilots and often have flight training also. If anyone would know about an Aztec at the airport, they would.

So yesterday I decided I'm going to make EF work for me... I have been using SF3D with your PTA All Months AprV16 preset. Initially I fired up with EF and everything was washed out and gray, so I disabled the EF HDR and enabled the P3D HDR and after a minute or two, magically the VC and surroundings looked great. Very much like I had it before. My only issue is I get the "billboard" trees that are a flat bright green until I get close to them, then they start to pop into full depth and shading. Not sure whether that's an ORBX Trees HD issue, or the airport scenery I am at, or PTA, or EF. Too hard to tell. @GSalden since I'm using your PTA preset, ASP4, SF3D & EF, what should I disable or change in your preset that is "dynamic" to play nice with EF? The one test flight I've done was very nice BTW. Thanks, Bruce

My very first finding of note with TS R&D preset + EF and now with only EF is notable. In the Maule all white with TS R&D preset with EF I notice the struts holding the wings up and the engine cowling when looking from the VC, when in shadow had a blue tint to it, a noticeable one. The shadows looked light blue. Also, I notice from some angles in the sun with FSL TS refections some odd colour tints. When loading up the Maule last night all shadows were shades of grey and the FSL had no odd tints at some angles. All looked fine but not done a flight yet so we will see. So yes shaders on shaders are not the best option. I would like to try Gerard's suggestion and have a TS profile with all setting set to default and use the minimin setting to make reflections work. But I have no idea how to do that. Can anyone make a TS profile like that? also one for PTA guys? If someone could make a profile like that then "we" could just tweak VC lighting to our own taste and have the wonderful reflections until FSL do PBR.

Hi Michael, That made no sense at all ๐Ÿ™‚ Going from brightness 1 to 1.3 should make things brighter, no darker! Michael, try this, use the option in the mini UI to set back to factory setting. Turn OFF HDR in P3D. I've not installed TS as i wont to see how EF works with no outside shaders. VC were not dark at all. I just set SF & EF textures to DTX5 1024. Auto mode.

    A2A B-17 Crew Voices Missing

Hello Steve, The internal sound files for the Accu-Sim B-17 are stored in a separate directory to the main "sounds" folder that you mention. By default, this is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\A2A\B17\Sounds". If you're having some difficulties with the product, I'd recommend that you drop us a line on our forums where we can help get you sorted out. If you can let us know as much info about your OS and installation as possible, it should make it quicker to troubleshoot the issue. Thanks, Nick

Thanks , computer are a mystery sometimes , all FPS is back today ? ๐Ÿ˜Œ not a clue why but who cares. Still need to have P3D HDR brightness at 1.30 because i want to make VC darker with EF HDR . If i go to outside view its way to dark otherwise with 1.0. I set EF HDR exposurekey to 0.300. Maybe there is more to it Michael Moe
  20. Cant speak for X-plane but with the amazing (and free) AIG AI Manager for P3D I really see no need for a payware like Traffic Global and especially given its fairly poor quality. I purchased and asked for a refund and never looked back.
  21. I think w6kd pretty well summed up the effects of such an upgrade.

    ucrtbase.DLL

Hi Jim, After installing all my airports last night the last thing I installed was MSE. As that..I think It was Spain south was the start of this " new scenery" window coming up every time I opened P3D. I loaded one MSE area at a time and closed opened P3D after install. I sat there looking at the screen with my fingers crossed lol. All went well I now have all my MSE PR in. The only thing that P3D did was it messed the order up but then it said it was out of sequence and rebuilt itself and all is in perfect order. No " new scenery" window. This time and since even with SCAL/Navarda/Spain active load time are under 30 seconds so am not going to de-activate anything. Still not done a flight.
  23. I have CH pedals. Whenever I have this problem I always manage to cure it by taking them apart and cleaning the pots.
  24. I usually add one payware title a month to either P3D or Xplane, but I've been enjoying Xplane11 so much lately that I am moving my momentum in add-ons to that sim. P3DV4 is alright, but I just feel I see better things when I fly in Xplane11, each aircraft that I buy feels like I expect it would, and even though Xplane11 does not have seasons, it just "looks" to me like what I see when I fly in real life, at any altitude, and whether it is default scenery or photo scenery I fly over, it just looks fine. RealityXP works in it, like it does in the P3D world, and I like that presence of information and flight planning, that makes this hobby and my learning how to fly different from one day to the next. I will keep P3DV4, the Lockheed Vega I have flown this past week is amazing to fly, as are many other add ons I have there. But my preference is about two thirds Xplane11, and one third P3DV4, maybe because Laminar is the Little Engine that could, if you know that children's story, Laminar kept our hobby alive during the void when Microsoft dropped the MSFS series and before Lockheed Martin saved our memories for us, which I owe them greatly for, because of all the add ons I was able to freely move from MSFS to P3DV4, saving me a small fortune. Since I am in forced retirement from a terrible car accident, I was almost ready to return to the workforce, then I got run over by an errant driver who did not stop or care about a pedestrian in a crosswalk, I am flying these sims several hours a day, just so I have some connection to the life I almost lost and distraction from the horrendous, remembered pain. Like Frodo in Lord of the Rings who was stabbed by a Morgul Blade, I will always remember being hurt. But for me, Xplane11, and P3DV4, are my Gray Havens to enjoy, thanks to the courage of those like Jim Young and Tom who have kept our forums up for so long, for free, just because they love what we loved.
