  1. Past hour
  2. I purchased EGGW at the weekend and it really does have some serious terrain issues. I have been in touch with their support and have tried all sorts to get this right, Photogrammetry on/off, rebuilding scenery indexes, so far no joy. I think it may be a case of a refund
  3. There are voices with a German accent in PF3, as well as other accents. They're not TTS voices, though. But there are over 100, if I recall correctly.
  4. I'll chime in as well that FSHUD has improved greatly! If you guys didn't know, FSHUD also now has a discord for anyone interested. https://discord.gg/p5uDeGu7
  5. It's the FBW A320 so is definitely high enough for cargo loaders.
  6. I do use both FSHUD and BATC. Each have their uses cases for me, and having this competition will help both products become better.
  7. BATC is also a great Vatsim trainer. It's not 100% obviously, but it is great for helping you get used to answering an ATC call and take action. And on Vatsim, a lot of the stuff is scripted. My VA did a group flight out of KMSY to KDAL. It became pretty clear from listening to the 3 planes head of me, which two heading changes I can expect.
  8. Since Aurora Borealis was trending over the weekend for obvious reason, I’ve made a cinematic short with Parallel 42’s SimFX addon. Enjoy!
  9. Well yes nailed it there. In fact many people state the reason they want to use these addons in the first place is to PRACTICE the correct language/procedures/syntax.
  10. I see a lot of reference to Unicom but I assume you all mean CTAF. Unicom is intended more for calling the FBOs to request fuel, parking, etc. Where I fly we are required to readback runways and hold short instructions, if you don't the controller will request you do. There is no such thing as an active runway at an uncontrolled airport, the runway you choose is completely at the pilot's discretion. All calls should include the runway you intend to use in your position reports.
  11. So far I have been lucky performance has been good for me with the new update on my 5 year old system.
  12. This is a fair point. If we want to be a bit more lenient, we can compare the situation to an instructor in a full flight sim who will also be playing the role of ATC without any other traffic actually being present. Everyone understands that they're playing this role for the purpose of setting up a specific scenario. I see what BeyondATC currently does in a similar light, and I'm willing to suspend my disbelief about it.
  13. The paper referenced in the video does support the idea of quantum effects in the microtubule bundles in the brain, doesn't it? Our work highlights essential features of tryptophan chromophore networks in large aggregates of proteins forming biomolecular super-architectures such as the centriole (Figs. 1c, 2b, S5), axoneme (Fig. S4), and microtubule bundles in neurons. Combined with experimental measurements of fluorescence QY in tubulin architectures, our simulations presented in this work demonstrate that collective and cooperative UV excitations in Trp mega-networks support robust quantum states in proteins with observable consequences even under thermal equilibrium conditions. And Hossenfelder's conclusion is correct, isn't it? there seems to be a big logical gap between “there are quantum effects in human brains” and “quantum effects create consciousness”.
  14. In fshud version 1.4 they will add the possibility to use cereproc and ivona voices
  15. This is due to the hot-swap. Each unit is initializing the autopilot slightly differently (but correctly for the intended sim API), and the timing issues related to this hacked feature can cause an issue with this, in any of the units, to cause the sim AP to become stuck in any other unit (as there is only one sim AP, which they all have to try to share with this hack). If the hot swapping was not present, this problem would never occur, as the sim actually doesn't really provide for what is being done. In other words, the GNS when stuck together in this particular scenario may indeed surface this problem in SU14, but that's really a symptom of the fact that it's unsupported overall, and the interactions between everything are entirely undefined. Changing the order of the hot-swap code on the aircraft end could cause a totally different unit to be the one that surfaces the problem.
  16. No more discussion about the perceived benefits of the other sim please.
  17. Well yes exactly. Seems to me people (including myself) have become so used to the acronym ATC and how you perceive/act with it inside the simulator that it has become a separate entity from AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL itself. (A similar disconnect can be observed between simmers talking about IFR and Instrument Flight Rules) . 'ATC' has become associated with the interaction between sim pilot and a voice/text system that 'sounds like' what a real controller might say but does not involve any actual traffic control. So we can be interested in improving this interaction via text/voice input without actually caring if if it DOES anything more than simulating real humans talking. A harsher human that me could say that if there is no traffic control in the air (or ground) being carried out then it is false advertising to name a product with ATC in the title. 'Beyond ATC' is safe from the above criticism though as it literally states BEYOND lol. I do really like the system they have developed, whatever we call it. I dislike AI (LLM) in every form and will never patronise it. I was impressed by the developer video I watched and consider that person sincere and trustworthy. If/when it manages all the virtual planes in my virtual sky I will be mightily impressed and SOLD. Will need to look again at FSHUD. Or wait.
  18. Yes they are statics for now, I created some parking assignments for them to populate the base. If PSXT happens to pick up live data for them they will get used as live traffic.
  19. Today
  20. I would leave the Shader Cache disabled. It's a relict of old old times where CPU, Ram and HDDs where really slow. But with todays hardware you will not (I didn't) notice a difference in loading MSFS, perhaps a few ms delay. And you get rid off the problem with outdated shaders.
  21. You could remove all scenery addons and just keep the Maccosim Manchester. If that solves the issue, it might be another airport, or the Orbx UK Mesh if you have purchased that. You do have the WU for the British Isles installed?
  22. I used FSHud since its early days and it filled the gap until the next generation of ATC programs came along. Even though BATC is in early access and traffic is not yet implemented, I have moved to that instead of FSHud. So much of what FSHud promised like better voices and voice control, they just haven't been able to deliver. Nevertheless, it's great that we have so many choice now!
  23. "The appeal of XP is diminishing day by day." I was responding to this comment actually not the OP
  24. I rarely fly in Germany, so I wouldn't know.
  25. Voices...? I doubt PF3 gives you high quality german-accent-english.
  26. By any chance, do you use Logitechs Logi Options+ software for mouse or keyboard settings? I've had the same problem after an automatic update. Under settings there is an option for notifications for caps lock, scroll lock, num lock and FN.
