  1. Past hour
  2. Very true! I also wish they had added a few more realistic GPS options such as a single GNS 430, a single GTN 650 and perhaps the excellent freeware KLN90B.
  3. I appreciate all the above responses! Couple of questions: 1. Does Live weather with the Active Preset mode make any use of MSFS live weather? Or is it mainly based on METARS and interpolation (smoothing) between them? 2. Do all three Active Preset options make use of the many variables you can set with the AS controls, or is that only for the Live weather option? I realize these questions have likely been answered somewhere in the 60+ pages of the various AS threads, but it is not always easy to find them. Thanks very much, Al
  4. I think so. iniBuilds has been developing several aircraft for Asobo, including two that will be included in MSFS 2024.
  5. v1.2 - Trim tab adjustments added to the walk-round. Has anyone found them ? I can't see where they are carried out.
  6. You are not wrong about the right way to say it, but your description is slightly off. There are two basic modes: Passive and Active Preset modes, which are either Live MSFS with air effects from ASFS (Passive) and not MSFS weather where ASFS injected there weather and more air effects (Active Preset). Within Active Preset mode, there are three options: Live weather, Historical Weather (which you can set independently or through the time in the sim via a locking option) and Custom weather for a certain geographic region that you define on the map.
  7. There's no real need to predict in real live, you just request the ATIS via the FMC and you know the active runway(s).
  8. Great work Laminar! @jcomm will appreciate this too. 😁
  9. My understanding is that in real life being able to predict the arrival runway is difficult unless one is close to TOD-P2ATC will assign this around 4 minutes before TOD if you use the settings to allow random allocation. You can also request a different approach with the pilot controlled option checked in the config menu.
  10. Well, you have an option to build your own static preset using AS just as you would with the sim weather but yes, "presets" as you say is more descriptive of how it is forced to circumvent the limitations imposed by Asobo.
  11. I posted a video in the tips and tricks subforum. For increased visibility, I'm making a thread here in the main forum, as I'm not sure how many people check out the T&T subforum. In this video I go through all my settings and tweaks that I've refined over the last few years. Goal: to get the best performance and image quality possible. I hope it’s helpful! Topics: MSFS settings Nvidia control panel settings Windows settings Nvidia profile inspector settings How to update DLSS versions How to use DLDSR HDR calibration How to make FG work G-Sync settings Using the Rivatuner Statistics Server (RTSS) overlay to fine-tune performance …and maybe some more that I’ve forgotten about Perhaps this thread can be used to discuss various settings as I'm sure there's quite a bit of variation here, based on personal preference and hardware configurations. We have a few relatively current threads on DLSS, but there's not been a general settings thread for a while I think.
  12. Thanks for that lxoye. I ran through that link and checked that al the steps had been followed and were up to date. I did have Game Mode on, though I thought I had previously disabled it. BIOS, drivers, Xbox app and Game are all installed and up to date. It was useful to check though.
  13. Looks great. Now I just want to see 12.1.0 on my computer.
  14. Also, SI actually DONT have your bank details. Do you think theres a guy at SI looking up bank infos and setting thousands of wire transfer the 1st day of every month? i doubt they built their own custom in house recurring payment system from scratch, they are most likely using a service from another company, like shopify, visa, or whatever. Also bis, im failry sure they dont have a link to the avsim forum in their support page....
  15. Thanks for the response and explanation. I guess I would say the correct technical term that describes how AS does what it does may not be the best term to convey to the average non-technical user what the result is. Al
  16. I played it on release. And it was annoying, a slap in the face of every paying customer - especially regarding all the marketing that happened before. I actually played it and its ok now (while it still makes "plonk" when you hit the "water"). And BATC seems to sail the same boat.
  17. Today
  18. Well you wouldn't want to fly somewhere with the fiightplan from your last flight, or what am I missing?
  19. The key being that they're all Airbuses. Many systems in common, greatly simplifying development.
  20. In terms of stutters - I suggest you to share a short movie of this happening. At least we will have some idea how it looks and what it is and might be there will be a way to go forward with it. Thank you
  21. The interconnect's effect is only present when the pedals or yoke are off-center. Apparently, pedals and yoke at zero means interconnect gain is at zero as well. Its gain is 100% at slow speeds and decreases as a function of dynamic pressure. Off the top of my head, it is about 6% in the 100-150 range and hardly there at higher speeds. Regarding the rudder and yaw damper being ineffective: The rudder is ineffective like this in reality also. We have data points and verified it using the pilots. That's just how it is. The Yaw Damper in the PC-12 is limited in effectiveness because MSFS will disconnect the autopilot if the controls move past a certain threshold. Therefore, it as effective as it can get without artificially increasing the aircraft's stability. I'd like to know what aircraft model has an effective, non-custom yaw damper because it has been non-functional since FS2002 -if not earlier. I'll take any plane from FS98 until today, please.
  22. Correct. The name "preset" comes from the fact that technically it's injected into MSFS as a preset, albeit a dynamically changing one (through updates and transitions).
  23. Already answered in the ticket to check MSFS settings in user guide: https://www.fshud.com/#/site/manuals/user-guide
  24. Sorry, but I have no idea what would cause this. There are at least a dozen options, not taking into accout that what you do with the dials is relvant too (and can cause hold-ups and general trouble in the sim). On a side note, it is IMO not a good idea to run several tools at the same time that essentially do the same thing (AAO, SPAD, FSUIPC, Mobiflight). You can of course do as you wish, but AAO does not officially support any of these combos (as they can be unpredictable and gut feeling says that they spell trouble. As demonstrated by Mobiflight, when all MIDI devices stopped working in AAO).
  25. Brilliant thanks that was the info I was after! Yes, I'm well experienced with the infamous 'assign twice to release' bug!
  26. Dial Stacks are not a feature of the AAO plugin, they are a feature of the StreamDeck Software. That is the manual you have to look into. The AAO plugin does not contain any special code or methods for stacked actions. That is why they are not in the manual (which is primarily for the authors of StreamDeck profiles, as detailed in the other thread.
  27. I have no idea, just that AMD themselves and all the videos I've seen recommend it, this instruction is for Ryzen 9 but applies to all X3D as far as I understand. https://community.amd.com/t5/gaming/how-to-set-up-your-system-with-a-new-amd-ryzen-9-7950x3d-or/ba-p/589464
