Hi there, I am new to the forums and am very sorry if this question has been asked before but I could not find it. When I purchased my 747 package I had trouble getting it to work due to a corrupt cfg file. I ended up submitting a support ticket and the guys at PMDG sorted it out for me. My question is that if I was to reinstall fsx which I would like to do would my PMDG 747 work after reinstalling the package or would the cfg file be corrupt once again making me have to try and get the PMDG guys to fix it again? Thanks in advance.

Thanks,

Call me mad (?) but now that I have FSX running sweetly under DX10 I was thinking that it's time to remove FSX from my old 1TB HDD and put it on my brand new 240GB solid state drive! I already have a 60GB SSD for the Windows 7 OS but there's not enough room for FSX on there and would rather keep FSX away from the OS and program file folder/s. As far as I'm aware SSD's are significantly faster than an older HD? It certainly boots my OS much more quickly than previously. Are many of you running FSX from an SSD? Did you see much of an performance improvement? Any tips what/what not to do? Cheers Adam

PMDG 737NGXers.... I recently upgraded my PC - only the case & some drives were kept!. Went to a Z77 mobo, way more RAM, a primary SSD, and Windows 8. I fully reinstalled FSX and all add-ons. Things went well, but I was leaving the PMDG 737NGX for last, fearing that because it was the most complex, it would be a tricky install. And of course in the middle I updated to Windows 8.1.... I must report that the whole install went VERY smoothly and more quickly than before. It prompted to me go nuts and install all the liveries, updated FMS data, etc. Bottom line is I was able to jump right in and fly without a hitch. Thanks for building a solid product! Sherman Horton

Have spent a long several days reinstalling FSX onto new SSD's but not satisfied so I'm starting over..again...I'm a longtime simmer and FS user, but I want to confirm the order of reinstall and see if anyone has any suggestions. I go in the following order 1. FSX 2. SDK (run FSX and exit) 3. FSX Acceleration 4. SDK SP1 5. SDK SP2 (run FSX and exit) (do the usual tweaks and fixes in FSX.cfg) (run FSX and exit) 6. FSUIPC 7. Run FSX and Exit (test wideserver/wide client) 8. Vpilot/Simconnect and test 9. ASN on remote client and test simconnect 10. FTX Global Base (run FSX and exit) 11. FTX Vector (run FSX and Exit) 12. Install Regional sceneries 13. Install Airports 14. Install addon aircraft Let the tweaking begin! Of course on it's own drive, running as adminstrator, etc. Any thought or suggestions as to this methodolgy? Jeff

It's been years since I did anything with FS9 files so I'm unsure about this process . . . . I have FS (and all addons) on it's own drive, but my OS drive died and I lost files that default to My Documents and C:\Users. My entire FS installation is good except for those ^ missing files. If I install a fresh FS9 in a new location (a third drive) those files currently missing should get placed in the above locations. Does that sound right? Am I missing anything? (Windows 7)

Hi, I had FSX installed onto my HDD, but as I was purchasing the NGX I decided to move the file over to my SSD. I didn't do this completley conventionally using Steam Mover. This worked and everything is going well!. However I now wish to install every steam related application to a 250GB SSD I have just purchased. As steam mover uses links to allow the game, I'd like some advice as to how to approach this. Do I need to revert the step by using the back arrow so the game is now completley on my HDD first? How will this affect the NGX? I am concerned that I'll do this and then lose my NGX (which I absoloutley love!) and thus the money I spent on it. I'd like some form of reassurance that if this happens I will be able to get my NGX back and reinstalled? My set up: SSD1: OS, Steam.exe, Steamapps, FSX, HDD: Steamlibrary, FSX Shortcut + 10 games. SSD2: I would like everything other than the OS on this SSD including FSX:SE and NGX. I hope you can shed some light on this. Kind Regards George Hunt
