  1. Hey all, it is the time again to have our European Christmas Tour!! Everybody is welcome to come and join us. Just post a comment and I will PM you all the details. There are a few conditions: You must have Flight Simulator X You must have the PMDG 737 NGX You must fly in a special repaint for the flight. I am currently adding the finishing touches to the repaint You must obey all rules that I tell you You must have a knowledge on how to use the auto-pilot on the PMDG 737 NGX If you are using ATC you must use the default ATC You must follow the route which I tell you to fly (eg. if it want you tell fly the leg from Heathrow to Frankfurt DON'T fly from Heathrow to Amsterdam!) So, if you think you are up for the challenge just post a comment and I will PM you all the details. I WILL NOT provide the PMDG 737 NGX aircraft for you.I have attached an image of the flight plan. The flight will be done using Real World Weather.Hope you are up for the challenge!!
  2. Hi all,I was wondering whether there are any flight simulation convention or exhibition (like the one PMDG is going to near the end of this month) held in Europe in the second half of this year that is being scheduled or confirmed?I'm in Australia and there aren't too much international FS conventions and exhibitions here, so I'd like to try Europe.Cheers,Brendan
  3. Air England virtual is a virtual airline not base on any real world airline. We fly to some interesting destinations in Europe and we are now recruiting. To join us go to www.airenglandvirtual.info
  4. I built a flight plan and filed it on VATSIM after connecting to UK network when starting up Squawkbox 4.I departed from Brussels (EBBR) where there was NO ATC and reported my actions/position on Unicom 122.8 all throughout the flight.I flew all the way to England and was on Base leg to the final for rwy 27L (the active) and NO ONE advised me to contact ANY ATC controller. I flew Unicom until I acquired the localizer at which point I spoke with EGLL (Heathrow) tower and he was with me to the ground and taxiways. NOTE: I was the one who initiated the conversation with EGLL tower. Once I had acquired I came on and gave my callsign and informed I had acquired the localizer. Controller informed me I was #2 to land. I could see an aircraft ahead of me on the GLS.Is this usual for Heathrow? Would someone run solely as Heathrow Tower with no one handling the aircraft approaching the pattern?I had my squawk set last night to 2200 same problem. Tonight 2000 and same problem. It all turned out OK but was FAR outside my comfort zone and nothing like my normal VATSIM experience whereby the controllers greet you at least 25nm from the airport... no such luck tonight or last night at Heathrow.I'm trying to determine if I'm doing something wrong (e.g. wrong squawk code) remember no one 'assigned' me a code when I departed Brussels (NO ATC SERVICE) but I did file my flight plan on VATSIM when I connected to them before taxiing at Brussels (EBBR).Thanks for any suggestions.
  5. Hello everyone :-) I would like to intruduce our VA to you. Travel Service is an airline based in Czech Republic, with Hubs in Prague, Bratislava, Warsaw, and Budapest. It also has aircraft leases in Brussels, India, and Canada. Many of these flights are available to you. We are operating with Boeing 737NG, Airbus A320 family, and Cessna Citation 680 Sovereign. We are using the latest SmartCARS 2 from TFDi Design, and sophisticated Flight Center. Still not convinced? Here we are! Please note, that some features of our airline are still under construction. At this point, only Flight Plans remain to be done. Thank you. Jan Podlipský Validations Director Support Director Travel Service Virtual http://www.tvs-virtual.cz
  6. I do not usually leave bad reviews but the way FTX has promoted their products with some high quality screen shots made me spend my hard earned savings to try some of their products. I was fairly 'happy' with Iceland demo and decided to buy England and Scotland expansion pack but both of them turned out to be nothing but utter disappointment (Scotland more so than England). I don't know if it's my settings or if it's in general I didn't notice a huge ground scenery improvements in both day and night mode. - Vegetation and farm lands are not as vibrant in colour as it looks in some of their screenshots. - Big cities like London/Edinburgh looks considerably dark in the night mode. Even in day mode London doesn't appear to be as big and as dynamic it should be. - Edinburgh's very very poorly laid out with car parks appear to be flat mesh of multiple colours and motorways that are not distinguishable from above giving you a feeling that cars are running on flat empty ground. However, it's not all bad as buildings and textures around some airports seem to have improved dramatically. And in some cases there are some water crafts, cruises, and vessels that matches real life, i.e., Cruise ship to Amsterdam standing at Tyne mouth, Shields Ferry etc. but again the quality of the models aren't great. I am yet to explore the Pennies, Highlands, and Lake District but my first impression was 'complete waste of money'! It seems the developers haven't put as much effort in designing this part of the Europe as they have for some of the American and Asia Pacific regions. Or may be just the quality of FTX in general is not that good?! I was planning to buy other FTX products but I will certainly not after such a let down. Now I am thinking I should have listened to other's advice and should have gone for a software like Open VFR. This is not just some criticism thrown at Orbx but I am genuinely disappointed with what I expected and I have got.
  7. Hi fellow aviation fans! Are you into commercial aviation between Europe and Latin America? Well, I am! After much frustration and struggle in finding the latest of news and general information on everything that goes as interesting in aviation between the two regions, I decided to start my own site. I provide a newsfeed with the latest of news concerning the Airlines and routes between Europe and Latin America, also including travel tips on several destination. Did you know that Iberia is the leading airline between the two regions, or that Alitalia covers the longest route? Read about this and much more. 8. Bluestar Airways was founded in June 2015. We are a virtual Airline with no reference to an existing company. Any matches are purely random. Our goal is to simulate as realistic as possible the operation and process of an airline. We use a pilot software (cACARS, kACARS, xACARS) that sends all relevant data live to our flight dispatch center. With modern aircrafts of the type Airbus 319/320/321, Boeing 737NG (738) and Bombardier Dash Q400 we start from our main hubs Berlin EDDB, Dublin EIDW and Stuttgart EDDS to numerous destinations in Europe. Our home base is the airport of Berlin-Brandenburg. Until the real opening of the airport of BER, we start from the old airport of Schoenefeld. Some highlights of our Flight Dispatch Center, bookable flights, depending on pilot location aircraft maintenance simulation rank system depending on different aircraft types live flight traffic with ACARS (xACARS, FSACARS, FSPax, FSFK) optional automatic flight assignment with individual settings bookable charter flights with own routing economic cost/expense simulation and much more We also offer a lot of opportunities for enthusiasts that like to support us and be part of the management board. Come join us and send us your application today! We support german and english pilots. flybluestar.com | Bluestar Airways
  9. Hi, I'm looking for some airports for my Katana. :) What I would like, is a small airport (really small, that would make a challenge to land even with DA-20 and J3Cub) with a nice scenery around it to fly VFR. Payware included, just really enjoyable one, cause landing with a Cub and stopping 1/10 of the runway is a bit boring actually. Only thing is it has to be in Europe, possibly Italy or Poland. I've already got Drzewiecki Design's free Goraszka, which is lovely and exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. Otherwise I guess Orbx is the only real alternative.
  10. Hi, I want to know whether I should buy Ultimate Terrain Europe or Ground Environment X Europe? I just want a scenery package for al of Europe, so which one is better? What is the FPS like on each package? Which one should I buy? Aaron G.
  11. Dear reader, Since November 2016 the plans to restart SilverWings V.A. was born. We provide realistic operations, two different kinds of flight logging, our logging system that scans the IVAO and VATSIM network for your flight number and ID and our SmartCars client for offline flights. At this moment our route network contains 850 flights and is still counting. Also quite unique is our typerating system, the maximum rank you can achieve without a typerating is captain, with typeratings you can achieve higher ranks. SilverWings is using a fleet that consist out of different types of aircraft, from small planes as the JS41 or F50 to the big planes as the B744 and A332. Also we have a few helicopters to ensure all pilots can fly whatever they refer. We are using a modified crew center where you can download our liveries, enter the forum, send emails to other pilots, find our tours and events and plan your flights with a full flight briefing package for the best simulation. Also you will have the choice to get random assigned flights every month based on your wishes by the system. Please visit our website at www.silverwingsva.com for more information. We're looking forward to welcome you as a crewmember of SilverWings V.A.
  12. Hi folks. Thought I'd do a comparison between UTX Europe and the new FTX products namely OpenLC EU. Until now I'd been pretty happy with UTX Europe with FTX Global particularly as I tend to fly the 737NGX + Dash 8 but nevertheless after an upgrade itch I decided to get hold of Vector and OpenLC. I chose a variety of areas, Nice Cote Azur, LSZS in the Alps, and two completely random areas in Norway and Holland. Done in FSX (DX9) with SweetFX. Completely unedited but resized. Decide for yourselves! However, personally for me the LSZS shot actually looks better with UTX rather than the new stuff (even without FS Global 2010) but LFMN does look ever so slightly better to me as do the others. I ended up getting a mesh product (Global 2010) and with that you can see it really does help improve the sim. Is this outlay worth the £107 I spent on Vector + OpenLC EU + Global 2010...I'm yet to be totally convinced especially as I tend to fly in an around Europe but given two of the three products have global coverage perhaps I'll be heading further afield with my VA. I think this is a testament to UTX too, for such an old product they really did get it right back then and with FS Global it improved things massively (much better then Ground Environment X IMO) but with hopefully ORBX continuing to update and upgrade their products I'm sure I'll be happy with my new purchase. ...ps only downside is I now need a bigger SSD!!! D**n you ORBX!
